Deux années sont passées depuis le premier opus. Nos deux personnages principaux, Alberto et Mattia sont en crise avec leurs femmes respectives. Silvia déteste Milan à cause de la pollution de l'air et reproche à Alberto de penser exclusivement à son travail. Dans le même temps, Mattia vit avec sa femme Maria et son fils Edison sous le toit maternel et ne veut pas entendre parler d'emprunt immobilier. Excédée par cette situation, Maria le quitte. Elle ne reviendra que lorsqu'ils auront un foyer juste pour eux. Après plusieurs tentatives échouées pour reconquérir sa femme, Mattia rejoint Alberto afin de travailler à Milan, équipé d'un gilet antibrouillard ! Mais les mœurs ici sont bien différentes de celles de la campagne napolitaine.
