Nell O'Day (September 22, 1909 – January 3, 1989) was an accomplished equestrian and B-movie actress of the 1930s and 1940s. Born in Prairie Hill, Texas, O'Day was a good looking woman in her youth, and had her first screen roles in the 1920s as a teenager.
Her first starring role was in 1932 when she starred in Rackety Rax opposite Victor McLaglen and Greta Nissan. From 1933 through 1940 she would star in nineteen films, with only a small number of those being western films. Starting in 1941 she began starring in roles placing her as the heroine in westerns, often opposite Johnny Mack Brown, Ray "Crash" Corrigan, Max Terhune, and John 'Dusty' King.
In 1942 she starred as the heroine in several cliffhanger episodes of Perils of the Royal Mounted. In 1943, under contract with Republic Pictures, she began starring in the serial films the Three Mesquiteers, alongside Bob Steele, Tom Tyler and Jimmie Dodd. Her last starring role was in 1943, in the film Boss of the Rawhide, opposite Dave O'Brien. She had one more role, in 1946 when she starred in The Story of Kenneth W. Randall M.D., but concentrated mostly on writing screenplays and stage plays.
She spent the rest of her life writing for stage and screen. She died of a heart attack on January 3, 1989, in Los Angeles, California.

This serial shows as the trading post of Sitkawan, Canada is taken by surprise when an Indian tribe attack and massacre the settlers aboard a fur-bearing wagon train. Sergeant MacLane of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is assigned to investigate the case. MacLane soon realise that the attackers were led by Mort Ransome, a nasty renegade, who had been conspiring with Black Bear, medicine man of the tribe, to incite the heretofore friendly tribe for his own gain. He also learns that two white renegades have kidnapped Diana Blake, daughter of the local post factor, and saves her from a runaway wagon just before it plunges over a cliff. Perils of the Royal Mounted also features stereotypically Northern genre elements including trappers, lumberjacks, trading posts, rebellious braves, forest fires, avalanches, and a wide range of dangerous wildlife.

At the beginning of the film, Bill Ralston arrests a bad cowboy named Deadwood and takes him to Judge Williams. Ralston returns to his girl, Sally Dixon, before she is shot in the chest 8 times by Brant, a goon of Deadwood's, and Poe Daggett, an old enemy of Ralston. Ralston shoots Daggett in the knee, and the two run away into the saloon. He sees all of his friends including Sheriff Fin Elder at the Saloon, and they sing him a song. Then Daggett comes behind the Sheriff and tries to kill him, but Poe's brother, Walt, stops him from doing it. Everyone gets into a big fight, and in the end, the only survivors are Bill Ralston and Sheriff Fin Elder.
