The story focuses on five friends Prabu, Elango, Sundar, Indra and Priya at the Madras Institute of Technology, who want to remain friends throughout their lifespan and hope to join the same company after graduation. During a vacation Elango, goes home where he is forced to get married to his rustic cousin, Eshwari by his tough disciplinarian father. Once back to college he hides the fact about his marriage to his friends but later the marriage becomes public when relatives of Eshwari come to visit Elango. While their dream to work together becomes true, Elango alone gets a transfer to Bombay. The friends fight but later reunites back. Before Elango goes Bombay the friends force him to visit his wife and put him on a train. But Elango manages to get off the train and from there loses touch with his friends and family in the village.

The movie opens in an engineering college in Ooty with a narration of the characters. Rajiv Samuel (Abbas) is a computer engineering student and is one of the top students in the college, whereas Rajesh (R. Madhavan) is a mechanical engineering student who is the bad guy of the college. A mutual problem between the two groups led by both Samuel and Rajesh puts both Sam and Rajesh at loggerheads and they pull pranks on each other to get the other in trouble. It culminates into a fist fight but is soon broken up their friends. In the fight, Rajesh punches Sam in the face, which is against the rule, and Sam promises to return the favor in future. They graduate from the college soon and promise to not see each other ever again. Sam goes abroad for job, while Rajesh stays back in India saying that he does not want to leave his motherland.

The film is about a man Ashok (Vijay) who helps lovers. He understands the psychology of women and knows how to catch their heart. Whenever a man wants a girl to fall in love with him, Ashok makes it occur. However, he advises his friends not to tell their love immediately because of past incidents that even lead to a death. Ashok falls in love with a girl (Richa Pallod), but never tells his love to her. His friend starts to love her and Ashok is not aware of this. Ashok ends up helping his friend making his love succeed, without knowing that his friend's girlfriend is his crush. Ashok realizes the girl was Richa at the register marriage near the end of the movie and bursts into tears when his friends are not looking. The movie ends as Ashok not marrying Richa and is a helper for couples forever.

Vamsi (Mahesh Babu) is a fashion designer who gets an opportunity to participate a designer's contest held in Australia. Vamsi has a colleague called Sneha (Mayuri Kango) who is selected to model his creations in the fashion contest. Since Vamsi has to study the culture of Australia to design the best outfit, he is asked to tour Australia extensively for a month.
