Margaret "Mag" Ruffman (born February 28, 1957) is a Canadian comedian, actress and television host.
She has played roles in films such as Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea and TV series Road to Avonlea.
In addition to her acting, Ruffman works on home improvement, hosting shows for W Network, Canada's women's network. She hosted A Repair to Remember in 1999 and 2000. In 2000, she launched a second series, Anything I Can Do, a workshop show. Ruffman writes a weekly home improvement column, ToolGirl, for the Toronto Star. She published a collection of her ToolGirl columns as a book, How Hard Can It Be?, in 2003.

Set in the summer of 1935, 16-year-old Ryan Delaney (Greg Spottiswood) wants to go to university on a scholarship, but his struggling mother (Patricia Phillips) wants him to stay home, find work, and take care of his 10-year-old brother Sullivan (Zachary Bennett). Due to circumstances relating to the Depression, the brothers were separated and have recently reunited. Ryan is easily annoyed by his little brother. Desperate to find a job, Ryan manages to gain a position as a counselor at Camp Hochelaga despite the fact that he is not qualified; he is too young, has never been to camp, and cannot swim, none of which he reveals during his interview with the camp director, Chief Berman (Joe Flaherty). The ruse is so effective that Ryan is offered the lead counselor position for the group of age 10 boys. After his mother tells him that he cannot go to camp without Sullivan, Ryan convinces Chief Berman to allow the young boy to attend. Being age 10, Sullivan is assigned to Ryan's group.

Le second volet s'ouvre une année après la fin du premier. Anne enseigne donc à l'école communale d'Avonlea. Parallèlement, elle commence à écrire, ce qui a toujours été son rêve. Diana Barry, sa meilleure amie, l'inscrit contre son gré, sans son consentement, ni même sans qu'elle soit au courant, au concours organisé par une célèbre marque de levure. Les candidats doivent écrire une nouvelle de cinq pages et y mentionner la marque du produit. Le gagnant se verra remettre une somme d'argent et son écrit sera publié dans les principaux journaux canadiens et américains. Anne découvre donc avec surprise qu'elle a gagné. Cet épisode anecdotique marque un tournant dans sa vie: elle accède donc à une petite notoriété de ses pairs.
