Louise Carver (June 9, 1869 - June 18, 1956) was an American actress who performed in grand opera, stage, nickelodeon, and motion pictures.
Carver's nonprofessional name was Mrs. Louise Spigler Murray. She died at her home in Los Angeles, California in 1956. Her funeral was conducted at Hollywood Chapel and was buried in Chapel of the Pines Crematory.

Biographie
Born in Davenport, Iowa, Carver made her first appearance on stage as a teenager, in grand opera, at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago, Illinois in 1892. In 1908 she made her screen debut in Macbeth. She came to national prominence as a comedian in Mack Sennett silent films such as The Hollywood Kid (1924). One of her biggest roles on stage was as the leading lady of Lew Fields in Mrs. Henpecks, which played on Broadway (Manhattan) for months in 1912-1913. Her final screen credits are from 1941. That year she made Love At First Fright and had uncredited roles in Tight Shoes and Some More of Samoa.Carver's nonprofessional name was Mrs. Louise Spigler Murray. The Stooges are tree surgeons who are enlisted by a rich old man to find a mate for his rare puckerless persimmon tree. The boys sail to the fictional tropical island of Rhum-Boogie to find the tree. When they arrive they are captured by the natives and will be eaten unless Curly marries the Chief's ugly sister. The Stooges manage to escape with the tree and, after a confrontation with an alligator, sail off with their prize.

Pat (Winnie Lightner) does everything she can to keep the struggling Colonel Gowdy Big City Shows traveling circus afloat, despite an alcoholic though well-meaning Colonel Gowdy (Guy Kibbee) and disgruntled unpaid workers. She sings and dances, and even does a high dive into a shallow pool of water when the "Great Santini" quits just before a performance. One of her few comforts is her love for barker Joe Palmer (Donald Cook). He, however, seems less enthused about the relationship and regularly takes money from her. To add to her troubles, her younger sister Irene (Evalyn Knapp), whom she is having educated to become a lady, visits her during school vacation and wants to stay with the circus.

Chris Buckwell, cruel and greedy czar of San Francisco's tenderloin, is heartless in his persecution of the Chinese, though he himself is secretly a half-caste. Buckwell, eager to possess the land of Don Hernández Vásquez, sends Michael Brandon, an unscrupulous attorney, to make an offer. Brandon's nephew, Terrence, meets the grandee's beautiful daughter, Dolores, while Vásquez refuses the offer. Terry tries to save the Vásquez land grants, but when Chris causes the grandee's death, Dolores takes an oath to avenge her father. Learning that Chris is a half-caste, Dolores induces his feeble-minded dwarf brother to denounce him; he captures her and Terry, but they are saved from torture and death by the great earthquake of 1906 that kills the villain.

Courtier dans une mauvaise situation financière, Jimmie Shannon est le légataire de sept millions de dollars par son grand-père. Mais une condition accompagne cet héritage providentiel : Jimmie doit être marié avant 19h le jour de ses 27 ans. Encore célibataire, il fête justement ses 27 ans ce jour-là. La fille de son cœur, Mary, semble s'imposer mais Jimmie lui fait une demande si maladroite qu'elle lui refuse sa main. Retournant au country-club avec son associé, il se propose alors aux sept jeunes filles qu'il connaît (les "seven chances" du titre original) mais toutes l'envoient paître. Son associé lui suggère alors de le retrouver dans une église à 17h en promettant de lui dénicher une heureuse élue. Poursuivant toute la journée sans succès ses demandes, Jimmie se résigne à se rendre à l'église dite, alors déserte. Il s'assoupit sur le banc du premier rang alors qu'arrivent d'innombrables femmes, au physique souvent disgracieux, en blanc. Toutes arborent un journal dans lequel est paru une annonce publié par son associé avec la photo de Jimmie et un appel à volontaires pour l'épouser. À son réveil, il prend peur devant l'hystérie qu'il provoque et s'échappe de la cohorte à travers les rues de la ville jusqu'aux collines désertiques où les rochers à leur tour semblent vouloir l'étreindre. Entretemps, le malentendu avec sa fiancée se dissipe et l'union se fait quelques secondes avant 19h.

Sue Graham (Normand) is a small town girl who travels to Hollywood to escape marriage, and in the hope of becoming a motion picture star. She wins a contract with a studio on the strength of a picture of a quite different (and very attractive) girl sent instead of hers; but when she arrives the mistake is discovered. Since the error was the result of another’s deception, the studio manager agrees to give her a job in the costume department. She eventually gets the opportunity to screen test, but it turns out disastrously – although in a nod to the actress behind the character the director calls her "a natural comedian." Sue's parents come out to California, and invest money with a shifty individual who swindles them out of their life savings. Sue and childhood friend Dave, who has also followed her, retrieve the money. Despite the unsuccessful film career, all turns out well.
