Leonard Kibrick (September 6, 1924 - January 4, 1993) was an American former child actor, most notable for appearing in the Our Gang short subjects series from 1934 to 1936, usually portraying the villain. Kibrick first appeared in the 1934 Our Gang short For Pete's Sake. He appeared in many more Our Gang shorts for the next two years. His final Our Gang short was the 1936 The Lucky Corner. His role as the bully in the series was taken over by Tommy Bond (as "Butch") in 1937, and Leonard's younger brother Sidney Kibrick portrayed Butch's sidekick, "The Woim".

Horse racing enthusiast T.H. "Randy" Randall is a happily divorced man nowadays. On the day of the one-year anniversary of the divorce, he and his former wife, Valerie, go to the restaurant where they first fell in love. Randy was responsible for breaking up their marriage in the first place, by spending more time with his race horse than Valerie. At the restaurant, while they are dancing, the police come and arrest Randy for not paying his alimony to Valerie. He is thrown in jail, and desperate to get out he starts to plan how to get rid of his obligation to pay alimony altogether. He finds that the best solution is to get Valerie to marry someone else, and so he tries to fix her up with a friend of his, Paul Hunter. They both accompany Randy to a party at the estate of a rich eccentric socialité, Ethel Hilary, who has a special interest in collecting original characters to her circle of friends at the estate. Besides Randy and his company and yoga master Dickie Brown, a very handsome man named Freddie arrives to the estate. He is unknown to everyone, but is soon romantically interested in Valerie, trying to get her interested in him by singing her a serenade in the night. She mistakes the singer for Randy, and he discovers that Valerie is more interested in Freddie than Paul, and forces her to go with him instead of Freddie to a picnic. Problems arise when Randy gets a flat tire and Valerie has to be escorted by Freddie anyway. She manages to get Freddie to propose to her at the picnic, but is devastated to learn that Freddie is already married. Having re-discovered his interest in Valerie, Randy gets jealous of Freddie, and wants to remarry his ex-wife. Randy quickly proposes to Valerie and she immediately accepts, having longed a long time for him to utter those words. Unfortunately Randy's lawyer, Bill Carter, accidentally reveals that Randy has had a "plan" to get rid of the alimony, and Valerie gets second thoughts about marrying him again. She decides on marrying the dull Paul instead, upset with Randy's presumptious behavior. The marriage is about to take place at the estate, but on the wedding day both Randy and Paul turn up as grooms. During the ceremony, Randy's own race horse Ajax participates in a race broadcast over the radio. The ceremony is quite disturbed by the race, and just when Valerie has decided to marry Randy, the horse wins the race to both their joy.

Carlotta Lee, alias Charlie, est une vedette de Broadway, mais dont la carrière commence à décliner. Elle est la cible des critiques constantes, tant dans les journaux qu'à la radio, de Peter Lawrence. Peter, qui a grandi avec Charlie et qui est amoureux d'elle depuis longtemps, espère en fait que des réactions à ses critiques vont aider la carrière de l'actrice. Un jour, Pete apprend la mord accidentelle du laveur de vitre O'Toole, et il lance un appel à la radio pour aider les enfants d'O'Toole, Mike et Jake. Lorsqu'il entend cet appel, l'agent de Charlie, Jimmy Slattery, pense que si Charlie adoptait les orphelins, cela lui ferait une grande publicité, et il s'arrange en secret pour que les enfants soient amenés chez elle. Quand Charlie rentre chez elle, elle est furieuse après Jimmy, car les enfants ont mis à sac sa chambre, mais elle décide finalement de les garder avec elle. Quelque temps après, malgré sa promesse, Jimmy publie une photo de Charlie avec les enfants, après quoi Pete menace de les emmener chez l'assistante sociale. pour éviter cela, Charlie accepte de se marier avec Reggie Odell, un millionnaire amoureux d'elle, qui apprécie beaucoup Jake et Mike. Jimmy, pendant ce temps, organise un faux kidnapping pour faire plus de publicité. Lorsque les policiers découvrent ce qui se passe, ils veulent accuser Charlie et éloigner les enfants. Désormais très attachée à Jake et Mike, Charlie décide de les emmener hors de New York et de les cacher dans un hôtel d'une petite ville. Pete découvre où ils sont et suite Charlie, en espérant pourvoir empêcher son arrestation. À l'hôtel, tenu par Janet Winfield, la juge de paix locale, Charlie et Pete discutent de l'avenir des enfants. Janet, qui écoutait à travers la porte, fait irruption dans la chambre et les force à se marier sous la menace d'un fusil.

The action takes place at an expansive California golf course, where the gang merrily play their own ragtag version of golf with makeshift clubs. Scotty and his grandfather Gus are the proprietors of a sidewalk lemonade stand. The small operation struggles to compete with the ornate sidewalk diner run by Leonard's father. Leonard is too engrossed in his comic book to pay attention to waiting customers, and when they leave he whines to his father, who gets a policeman to force Gus and Scotty from their corner. Buckwheat's father, a boot black, offers Gus room to set up his stand, while Spanky, Alfalfa, and the other kids stage a parade and an impromptu talent show to draw customers to Gus's booth.
