Konrad Petzold, born April 26 1930 in Radebeul and died November 12 1999 in Kleinmachnow was a German film director, writer and actor.

Biographie

Born the youngest of six children in a poor family, he was the son of a worker and a housewife. After an internship in the Film & Television school of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, he shot his first feature film in Czechoslovakia in 1955 a comedy called "The Fools Among Us". His next film was an adventure film, "A Dog in the Marsh", which brought him national recognition, especially among young people. However his next movie "Dress", based on "The Emperor's New Clothes", was accused of hidden political satire, and he was temporarily dismissed from the profession.

In 1969, Petzold shot the first of five "american-indian films".

Theo and Gustav Benthin are two brothers who operate a smuggling network: Theo, a factory director in East Germany, illegally transfers goods to his brother on the other side of the border, and the latter sells them in West Germany. The two also employ another pair of brothers, Peter and Klaus Naumann. Theo is caught by the People's Police; Gustav cannot compete in the wild capitalist market without the cheap merchandise from the East and his business collapses. Peter Naumann moves to the Federal Republic, but there he finds only unemployment and is eventually to join the French Foreign Legion. Klaus remains in the East and finds a promising job as a steel worker.

Les seuls survivants d'un massacre - le jeune chef des Dakota, Faucon agile, sa femme, Cheveux Bleus, et deux compagnons - partent à la recherche d'un refuge dans les Blackhills. Au cours de leur périple, les événements à affronter se multiplient. Près de la ville de Tanglewood, un conflit fait rage entre Collins P. Harrington, un cupide propriétaire d'une mine, et Sam Blake, un négociant doué en affaires. La tension monte progressivement au cœur de la ville. Alors qu'un convoi destiné à Blake est attaqué, un drame survient. James Bashan, à la solde de Harrington, tue Cheveux bleus. Faucon agile prépare alors sa vengeance.
