Aloma, une danseuse, vit sur Paradise Island, surveillée jalousement par son amant Nuitane. Lorsque Red Malloy lui cherche des ennuis, Bob Holden, un Américain présent sur l'île pour oublier une histoire d'amour malheureuse, la défend et gagne sa confiance. Sylvia, l'ancien amour de Bob, arrive sur l'île avec son mari Van Templeton. Aloma commençait à tomber amoureuse de Bob, mais celui-ci réalise qu'il aime encore Sylvia. Bob et Van disparaissent avec leur canoë pendant une tempête, ce qui fait se rapprocher les deux femmes. Mais Bob réapparaît, annonçant que Van s'est noyé. Il se réconcilie avec Sylvia et Aloma retourne avec Nuitane.

They eventually fall in love, but are rescued just before celebrating their wilderness-witnessed nuptials. Her husband later dies, so the lovers are then able to marry.

Dans le nord-ouest canadien, Jen Galbraith vit dans une auberge avec son frère Val et son père Peter, un contrebandier qui vend du whisky aux Indiens. Pierre, l'ami de Val, entend conquérir Jen, même si celle-ci est amoureuse du Sergent Tom Gellatly de la Police Montée. Lorsque Val essaie de récupérer une liqueur vendue illégalement par le vieux Galbraith à un Indien nommé Nuage gris, l'indien insulte Jen et Val l'abat. Tom est mandaté pour traquer le meurtrier, mais lorsqu'il arrive à la taverne, Galbraith et Pierre le droguent. Jen livre ses papiers au quartier général de la police, mais quand elle découvre qu'ils contiennent un mandat pour arrêter son frère, elle tire sur Tom pour l'empêcher de s'en prendre à Val. Pierre apparaît et attaque Jen, et peu après, Val revient, suivi de près par une équipe de police. Val et Jen forcent Pierre à avouer qu'il a tué l'indien, et Tom dit à la police qu'il est mort accidentellement.

As described in a film magazine, George Washington Magee (Cohan) bets a companion $5,000 that he can write a bestseller in twenty-four hours. He goes to a isolated summer hotel in the mountains, receives the only key to the place, and sets about his task. Soon he is interrupted by complications as guests arrive, unexpected and uninvited, each with their own key to the deserted hotel. Two hundred thousand dollars gets deposited in the hotel safe, a young woman is shot, and, while the author hold the crooks at bay waiting for the police to arrive, they cook up a scheme to turn the tables on George. The woman's body disappears from the room, and the crooks are marched off to prison by U.S. Secret Service men. The caretaker returns the following night and congratulates the author on his success, and a lady reporter capitulates under the smiles of the industrious writer.

As described in a film magazine, while attending a house party with her husband, Eleanor Stratton (Frederick) overhears a conversation between a detective Jim Foley (Hatch) and her husband Frederick (Kent), in which the latter is commanded to produce a receipt held by Worthington Lawrence (Handyside), their host, under penalty of being exposed for a petty theft committed years ago. To save her husband, Eleanor obtains the receipt and motors to the city the next day with it, where Foley has promised to deliver to her the signed confession of her husband. Foley tricks her up to his rooms, where he obtains the receipt but fails to deliver the confession. He promises to give it to her if she will return that evening. While he is getting the paper from a desk, Eleanor puts two sleeping powders in a glass of wine, but Foley discovers her and in the tussle that results Foley strikes his head on a buffet and is rendered unconscious. Eleanor escapes and while attempting to return the receipt to Worthington's desk is discovered by her husband. After explaining matters to him, an understanding is reached. Meanwhile, Foley has recovered and tells political boss by telephone that six masked intruders had broken into his rooms and stolen the receipt.
