Jay Lan Manalo (born January 30, 1973) better known as Jay Manalo, is a veteran Filipino actor of Filipino-Vietnamese descent. Although born in Saigon, Vietnam, he was raised in Tondo, Manila, Philippines.
Manalo was released to the custody of his lawyer on July 6, 2007, a day after cracking a bomb joke while about to board a flight to Puerto Princesa, Palawan the morning of July 5. Prosecutor Ticyado ordered Atty. E. Teodoro to take him into custody. Manalo was removed from Philippine Air Lines (PAL) flight PR185 minutes before the aircraft was to take off at 8 a.m. from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal. He told a flight attendant that there was a bomb in his backpack. The prosecutor found that Manalo was only cracking a joke and had no intention of carrying explosives nor harming any of the passengers in the Palawan-bound flight.

Biographie
His father is a Filipino musician based in Vietnam during the war and there he met Jay's mother who is Vietnamese. After Jay was born they moved to Manila and, by the time he was five, his parents got separated and his mother was forced to leave him to his father Eustaquio G. Manalo jr. In 1981 his father went abroad to work as a musician/entertatiner leaving Jay to his grandmother. His father was reunited with him in 1993. His mother was reunited with him in 1995. His mother married a US Navy serviceman and his father continued in his music.Manalo was released to the custody of his lawyer on July 6, 2007, a day after cracking a bomb joke while about to board a flight to Puerto Princesa, Palawan the morning of July 5. The film starts with the opening credits with clips from the first fight between Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales. After which, it started when a beaten Manny (Jericho Rosales) depressed upon his defeat to Morales. He was with his trainer Buboy Fernandez (Bayani Agbayani) and his wife Jinkee (Bea Alonzo). After that, the scene flashes back to a young Manny (Jiro Manio) being experienced as a boxer in General Santos City. It comes back to the present time when Manny was hospitalized. It comes back to his childhood with his strict mother Dionesia (Jaclyn Jose) whose having a misunderstanding with her husband Rosalio (Tirso Cruz III) and he started his training as a young boxer. Then it goes back to the time when Manny is planning to go back to the Philippines. After that it flashes back to Manny as a boxer, there he met Nanay Parcon (Gloria Sevilla), a recruiter of young boxers and Emong Dionisio (Jay Manalo). Her mother disagrees with Manny's decision to be a boxer because he is too young. After that, it comes back to the present time, when Manny and his team arrived in the Philippines. It flashes back again when he went to Manila to be a boxer. He lived in a gym in Malabon owned by Polding Correa (Ricky Davao). Emong saw Manny and began his dream as a boxer. He worked in a construction and selling sampaguita. It goes back when he arrived at his home with his family greeting him even though he lost. It flashes back when Manny began his journey as a boxer. At seventeen years old, he became a professional, and he was undefeated at that time. He was handled eventually by Ruben Novales (Tony Mabesa). He arrived at General Santos and hired Buboy Fernandez, his close friend as his trainer. There he learned that her parents were separated. His undefeated streak ended when he was knocked-out by Rustico Torrecampo. In present time, he learned also that Emong is using Manny's name for his ventures. Emong is now poor, and it flashes back when he was a boxer, he was hit by a car and was hospitalized. In a mall, he met Jinkee Jamora. Jinkee had a twin sister, Janet but her mother is confused about Manny. Manny and Jinkee married in a civil wedding. Dionesia disagrees with his wife. In Thailand, Manny is the Flyweight champion, he lost to Medgoen Singsurat. There, he became addicted to drugs. After that, he changed and never used drugs again. Manny's victories became a hit. One of which when he won over Marco Antonio Barrera. The scene goes back upon the controversial fight between Pacquiao and Morales. In the end, the two had their rematch where Manny won via a 10-Round Technical Knock-Out. The movie ended when Manny was given a Hero's Welcome and some clips of his motorcade.

Junie (Vhong Navarro), is an ice cream vendor, who goes around selling ice cream to children, and adults alike. After his shift, Junie gets in a predicament with a rival vendor Dodoy (Jay Manalo). While on the job, Junie accidentally swallows a spider, thus giving him web slinging abilities, and becoming Gagamboy. After his shift, Dodoy comes in to his work, and leaves a sandwich unprotected. A roach slips into his sandwich, and as he eats it, he collapses, only to regain consciousness as a large roach. He hires two henchmen, and calls himself, Ipisman (Cockroachman). Junie and Dodoy, both try to win Liana's love. Dodoy practically gives up, only to return as Ipisman, to kidnap Liana to lure Gagamboy to his lair. There, he plans to finish off Gagamboy, but the tables turned and Dodoy was destroyed.
