Ben and Alan are great friends who have known each other since high school, and they genuinely haven't grown up. With the help of an unenthusiastic Mel, who deems their idea crazy, they try to involve him within their car-theft scheme. However, they come to realize that Kelsey needs more suitable role models, and Ben and Alan will have to grow up.

Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone), une jeune lycéenne, fait croire à sa meilleure amie Rhiannon (Alyson Michalka) qu'elle doit passer le weekend avec un ami de son frère pour éviter d'aller camper avec elle et ses parents nudistes qu'elle juge trop bizarres. Olive confie à son tout nouvel ami Brandon (Dan Byrd) la vérité et celui-ci lui raconte qu'il est le bouc émissaire des autres parce qu'il est gay. Elle lui donne l'idée de se faire passer pour un hétéro et le soir même, Brandon convainc Olive de faire semblant de coucher avec lui à une fête.
