Harris Goldberg (born November 17, 1972 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian-born director, writer, and producer. He co-wrote the 1999 film Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo with Rob Schneider and the 2002 film The Master of Disguise with Dana Carvey.

In 2007, Harris wrote and directed Numb inspired by his own experience battling depersonalization disorder and clinical depression.

Harris Goldberg studied for a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University, majoring in English.

It was at McMaster where Harris started making films, writing, hosting and performing radio shows, doing stand-up comedy at clubs around Toronto and playing with his rock band, OLIVER TWIST, a CLASH-LIKE foursome known for their on stage personal tension that resulted in Goldberg smashing his entire drum kit and breaking his arm during one memorable New Year's gig at the then, mob-owned "JOCKEY CLUB."

Goldberg's first love, however, was tennis where he reached a Canadian junior ranking of number 2 in the country. Taking a year off to pursue the Satellite tennis circuit, he came to the conclusion that tennis would not be his life's work. Goldberg was frequently quoted as saying—he had strokes, but not the head.

His next move was to continue writing where his older brother, Daniel, had attained success writing and producing the films STRIPES and MEATBALLS, both starring Bill Murray. (The older Goldberg later produced OLD SCHOOL, PRIVATE PARTS, ROAD TRIP and THE HANGOVER, THE HANGOVER 2 & 3).

Goldberg moved to Los Angeles where sold his first screenplay within a week. He was signed to The William Morris Agency a week after that where he secured his first job writing for Matty Simmons, owner of National Lampoon and producer of ANIMAL HOUSE.

From there came a multi-picture deal at DISNEY including a long succession of studio assignments that included I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Jessica Biel, a sequel to THE MIGHTY DUCKS and the award winning Hallmark film, A STEP TOWARD TOMORROW, a poignant story between two young brothers, one bound to a wheelchair after an accident. Premiering to rave reviews on CBS SWEEPS WEEK in the winter of 1996, the film also marked a touching and memorable performance by CHRISTOPHER REEVE, his first acting role after his tragic horseback riding accident.

Evolving Pictures Entertainment produced the film, "Where's Angelo?" starring Robert Forster, Michael Madsen, Beverly D'Angelo, and Wolfgang Bodison that was selected to be honored at the prestigious Hollywood Film Festival that premiered at the new Hollywood Arclight Cinemas. "WHERE'S ANGELO" was directed by Harris Goldberg and described as a "Get Shorty" style picture.

“Evolving Pictures Entertainment feels Harris's talent as a writer/director and his unique vision follow the same type of witty, cutting-edge humor and realism that John Hughes brought us in the 1980s. Harris has a great ability of working with actors and attracting star talent to great material.”

Harris is best known as the screenwriter of Touchstone's, DEUCE BIGALOW;MALE GIGOLO, Paramount's, WITHOUT A PADDLE, Sony's, THE MASTER OF DISGUISE, Disney's, I"LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS and writing and directing the autobiographical feature, NUMB starring Matthew Perry, Mary Steenburgen, Kevin Pollak, Lynn Collins, Helen Shaver and Bob Gunton, who played the warden in THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.

Goldberg became friends with SNL alumni, Rob Schneider, where the two did a series of stand-up performances, including co-hosting THE MONTREAL COMEDY FESTIVAL and a memorable appearance on LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN where Goldberg and Schneider performed their satirical BLUE MAN ASS GROUP. Goldberg accompanied Schneider to Chicago where Schneider was asked to be master of ceremonies for a fund-raiser for PRESIDENT CLINTON and VICE PRESIDENT GORE. An hour before the event, secret service informed Schneider that because of his television series, MEN BEHAVING BADLY and the current problems the President was facing personally, the possible connotation would be bad press. Due to the last minute conflict, Goldberg was asked to fill in by CLINTON himself, something Goldberg describes as the most surreal experience of his life.

Goldberg went onto write and co-produce DEUCE BIGALOW; MALE GIGOLO for Adam Sandler's HAPPY MADISON shingle. A bidding war between TOUCHSTONE and NEW LINE for the project ended with TOUCHSTONE attaining the project. Modestly budgeted at 16.5 million, it went onto favorable box office success grossing 68 million domestically and over 100 million internationally.
From there Goldberg partnered with DANA CARVEY where he wrote and co-produced THE MASTER OF DISGUISE for Sony Pictures, another profitable film grossing 40 million domestically. WITHOUT A PADDLE followed for Paramount starring SETH GREEN, MATTHEW LILLARD, DAX SHEPHERD and BURT REYNOLDS. Paddle was a financial success for the studio grossing 58 million.

Goldberg crossed over to television during this period writing and selling pilots to HBO, CBS, NBC, ABC, TNT and USA. It was during this time that Goldberg began suffering from Depersonalization Disorder, an anxiety and stress reaction he calls the most hideous and frightening time of his life. He would go onto say he didn't know if he would make it from one day to the next. After his recovery, Goldberg wrote a screenplay about the event.

MATTHEW PERRY immediately attached himself to the project. Soon afterwards Goldberg found himself directing his first feature with a cast that included Mary Steenburgen, Kevin Pollak and Lynn Collins. The film went onto win many festival awards including BEST FEATURE at CHICAGO'S GENART FESTIVAL and THE OJAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. Goldberg has stated the film was not only cathartic personally, but proved helpful to many sufferers as well as a precursor to opening up academic investigation into the disorder.

In May 2013, Goldberg started his second directorial effort on THE LIST which is now in post. Shooting was completed in Los Angeles, and Patrick Fugit stars with Jennifer Morrison, Karen Gillan, Aaron Staton, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Giles Martini, Jobeth Williams and Victoria Tennant.
