Dingo is a prominent supporter of Australian rules football, and in particular the Australian Football League's West Coast Eagles & he sings their team song before every home game. He was on the selection committee for the Indigenous Team of the Century.

Biographie
Ernie Dingo married Sally Butler, then a sales representative for 2Day FM, in 1989. Dingo discovered in 2004 that he had a daughter, named Zoe, from a brief relationship before his marriage. He also has a daughter called Alyssa Wallwork and his wife also raised another grandchild Jurra, as well as their 16-year-old adopted daughter Wilara. In his appearance on Family Confidential Dingo revealed that Wilara's father was another aboriginal actor who was related to him. Sally Dingo has authored two books about her husband and family, 2000's Ernie Dingo: King of the Kids and Dingo, The Story of our Mob in 1997. They live in the suburb of Warrandyte, 24 kilometres northeast of Melbourne.Dingo is a prominent supporter of Australian rules football, and in particular the Australian Football League's West Coast Eagles & he sings their team song before every home game. In Broome in 1969, Willie Johnson (Rocky McKenzie) is having trouble wooing his girl Rosie (Jessica Mauboy), who ends up with a bandleader named Lester (Dan Sultan). His mother Theresa (Ningali Lawford) sends him back to boarding school in Perth to continue his education for the priesthood. One night, he and several others steal food from the college kitchen but are caught. Willie admits to being the thief, but runs away before he can be punished. He spends the night on the streets of Perth before meeting up with 'Uncle' Tadpole (Ernie Dingo), who offers to help him get home. They go to Fremantle where Tadpole allows himself to be run over by a Kombi van, hoping that the two hippies inside will help him. Not realising how far it will be to Broome, the hippies, 'Slippery' the German (Tom Budge) and Annie (Missy Higgins), his girlfriend, agree to drive them.

In Perth, Western Australia, young male Nyoongar Doug Dooligan (John Moore) is released from prison where he was incarcerated for assault. Outside he is picked up by his charismatic childhood friend Floyd "Pretty Boy" Davies (David Ngoombujarra)—who was partially responsible for Doug's incarceration—and taken to a remote Aboriginal community. He becomes attracted to local girl Polly (Jaylene Riley) and, upon learning that Floyd is still involved in criminal activities, decides to leave and visit his mother. Determined to stay out of trouble, Doug buys back his father's old property, Yetticup, which has traditional roots. Polly joins him at Yetticup and not soon after Doug's father reappears having escaped from prison. Doug narrowly escapes the police when his father is apprehended, who later dies in prison. Distraught, Doug meets Floyd and the two become friends again. When Doug tries to stop Floyd committing a crime Floyd sacrifices his own life so that Doug can escape.

Tribly, jeune metisse, vit dans un quartier de bidonvilles dans la banlieue d'une grande cite australienne. L'auteur de "Breaker Morant" realise avec ce film un projet qui lui tenait a coeur depuis six ans.
