Edwin Hunter Pendleton Arden (February 4, 1864 – October 2, 1918) was an American actor, theatre manager, and playwright.
He worked with a number of theatrical companies over the next thirty years, performing in such works as Edmond Rostand's L'Aiglon, Victorien Sardou's Fédora, and in an all-star production of Romeo and Juliet at the Knickerbocker Theatre in New York. In his later years, he had his own stock theatre company in Washington, D.C. He starred in silent films such as The Beloved Vagabond (1915).

Biographie
Arden was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Richard Arden and Mary Berkeley Huntingdon Smith. After a common-school education he travelled west and worked in a number of different jobs, including as a mine-helper, cowboy, railroad brakeman, clerk, reporter, and theatre manager. In 1882, he made his debut as an actor with Thomas Keene's Shakespeare company. The next year, in 1883, he married Agnes Ann Eagleson Keene. Around this time, he wrote several plays, including The Eagle's Nest, Raglan's Way, Barred Out, and Zorah.He worked with a number of theatrical companies over the next thirty years, performing in such works as Edmond Rostand's L'Aiglon, Victorien Sardou's Fédora, and in an all-star production of Romeo and Juliet at the Knickerbocker Theatre in New York. In his later years, he had his own stock theatre company in Washington, D.C. He starred in silent films such as The Beloved Vagabond (1915).

Based upon a review in a film magazine, Amy (Stewart) and Andrew Forrester (Tearle) are happy in the first few weeks of their married life with the comforts that his $25,000 income brings. Andrew turns down a business opportunity with steel magnate Maurice Delabarre (Arden), but Delabarre decides he needs Andrew's business abilities, and invites the couple to his house. Amy finds her living standard wanting, and demands that Andrew accept the offer even though it will cause them to be separated. After he accepts, Amy throws herself into the gaieties of the social set and even challenges the position of Delabarre's wife Irma (Hopper). Irma, finding her social throne tottering, sends for Andrew. On his return, he judges Amy's new lifestyle by old standards and wonders whether she is a virtuous wife.
