Duncan Sarkies is a New Zealand screenwriter, playwright, novelist, stand-up comic and short story writer.
Sarkies grew up in the South Island city of Dunedin and is the brother of Robert Sarkies a New Zealand film director who is also a scriptwriter. Sarkies is best known for writing Scarfies, a black comedy-thriller about university students in Dunedin, and New Zealand's sixth-highest-grossing film. He wrote New Fans, the tenth episode of the comedy series Flight of the Conchords.
Sarkies debut novel Two Little Boys was published in March 2008, and is being made into a film (also called Two Little Boys) during 2011.

Cinq vampires habitent en colocation à Limoges (Wellington en VO) : Aymeric (379 ans), Miguel (235 ans), Geoffroy (862 ans), Bernard (8000 ans) et JC (2 mois qu'il est vampire). Quelques mois avant « Le bal de la mort », un événement organisé tous les 13 ans, ils partagent, face à la caméra, leur condition de vampire et les problèmes sociaux que cela leur pose au XXI siècle. Par exemple, la participation aux corvées ménagères, la discrétion sur leurs agissements ou l'approvisionnement en nourriture « humaine » font partie de leur quotidien. Quelques réponses sont données par ces vampires : un vampire ne s'abaisse pas aux corvées ménagères par exemple. Mais le dilemme est qu'on ne peut décemment pas accueillir « la nourriture » où les cadavres et la vaisselle s'accumulent.

Nige (Bret McKenzie) and Deano (Hamish Blake) are two childhood friends who live in Invercargill in the South Island of New Zealand. However, estrangement has since resulted, because Nige has stopped flatting with Deano over concerns about Nige's self-perceived emotional dependence on his friend, and moved in with a third friend, Gav (Maaka Pohatu). However, Nige inadvertently runs over a Norwegian backpacker with his unreliable Ford Laser and kills him, and enlists the assistance of Deano to conceal the body, although not without ambivalence from Deano due to his 'abandonment' issues after Nige terminated their earlier flatting cohabitation. The film also deals with the consequently bungled and incompetent police investigation into the comedy of errors that produced this chain of events, with humorous consequences.

Emma, jeune étudiante de l'université d'Otaga, tombe sur une annonce concernant un logement gratuit. Plutôt fauchée, elle n'hésite pas une seconde à y répondre, et fait la connaissance de Scott, qui a découvert une grande maison abandonnée. Ils sont bientôt rejoints par trois autres étudiants, Nicole, Alex et Graham, et le petit groupe s'installe dans le squat. En visitant la maison, ils découvrent dans la cave un véritable trésor, qu'ils s'empressent de revendre. Ils se font ainsi beaucoup d'argent, qu'ils dépensent aussitôt. C'est alors que le propriétaire des lieux refait surface, bien décidé à reprendre son dû et leur faisant regretter leur insouciance.
