Celui-ci veut louer les terres des villageois pour monter un négoce illicite tout en leur faisant miroiter de juteux bénéfices. Dinanath Chauhan est alors victime d’un complot tramé par Kancha le faisant apparaître comme un violeur aux yeux des villageois qui se livrent à un lynchage. Le maître d’école finit pendu par Kancha lui-même sous les yeux de son fils impuissant, qui se fait le serment de le venger un jour.

Jail tells the story of Parag Dixit (Neil Nitin Mukesh) who is having a peaceful life with his girlfriend Mansi, played by Mugdha Godse. But his life takes a turn and he ends up in jail due to a false drugs case in which he is implicated although his friend is responsible for the fiasco. Shortly after getting promoted as Regional Manager of Max Finance, Parag Dixit gets arrested in Bandra for Firing at Police, and Possession of Narcotics. His associate, Keshav, is grievously injured, and is hospitalized in a coma-like condition. Parag's widowed mother, Alka, and Air Hostess girlfriend, Manasi Pandit, retain Advocate Harish Bhatiya to represent him at a preliminary bail hearing, but the Judge denies bail. Housed in an overcrowded barrack, with barely room to move, Parag meets with a variety of people - both convicted and awaiting trial - including Abdul Ghani, Kabir Malik, Galib Suratwala, Nawab, Bababhai, etc. Parag again appears in Court after a charge-sheet is filed, but again, due to the seriousness of the offenses, fear of tampering with evidence and witnesses, he is denied bail. Several months later, Keshav is now deceased - and Parag, embittered by abuse, loss of faith in an overburdened system - with overwhelming evidence against him - faces trial as the only accused. The film is a take on the cruel realities faced by prisoners in Indian jails by focusing on Parag's life in the jail. It was rumored that Neil will appear complete nude in a torturing scene. Manoj Bajpai plays another inmate in the jail.

Nikhil Kapoor (Sanjay Suri) decides to return from the USA to Mumbai. When he arrives, he decides to chill out at a nightclub. There he meets a woman and instantly falls for her; she, however, doesn't even introduce herself. After he asks her name, she goes away. The film begins with SP Amit Kumar (Ajay Devgan) taking charge of the Tezpur District in Bihar. The area is notorious for its crime rate, with Tezpur Police under the control of local don Sadhu Yadav (Mohan Joshi) and his son Sundar Yadav (Yashpal Sharma). Amit tries to instill honesty and courage in his subordinates, but in vain. Bacha Yadav (Mukesh Tiwari), who is a stooge of Sadhu Yadav visits his hideout, sees an infamous local goon Nunwa taking shelter there. Fearing that arresting him would open the lid on the nexus between Nunwa and the Tezpur Police, he kills Nunwa and misleads Police that he was killed in an encounter. Suspect about the encounter, Amit Kumar summons Bacha Yadav, puts him off duty temporarily and also tries to keep him away from Sadhu Yadav and Sundar Yadav. Anxious that he would be transferred from Tezpur, Bacha Yadav, seeking the help of Sadhu Yadav, visits his home, where he finds out that he is being ditched by Sadhu and vows to settle score with them. Meanwhile, Sundar manhandles a Public Works Department engineer for not heeding to his word during a tendering process. Amit takes notice of the incident and also finds that a girl is missing from her home after being kidnapped by Sundar. Sensing an opportunity, Bacha Yadav urges Amit to give him one more chance, who obliges him. Bacha Yadav tricks Sundar into a factory where Amit and his men are waiting and after a brief scuffle, Sundar is arrested and produced in a local court, where the judge acquits Sundar on the account of lack of evidence against him.
