Charles Hyatt (14 February 1931 – 1 January 2007) was a Jamaican actor, playwright, director, author and broadcaster.
Hyatt was the recipient of Jamaica's national honour of Order of Distinction (OD), and was awarded the Institute of Jamaica Centenary Medal and the silver Musgrave Medal.
He played the part of Bill Reynolds' father in the film version of Love Thy Neighbour.
He died of lung cancer on 1 January 2007.

Biographie
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Hyatt was best known as a character actor and comedian who appeared in numerous films and television shows, beginning in the 1960s. After making his movie debut in the 1965 film A High Wind in Jamaica, Hyatt had notable performances in the films Crossplot (1969), Club Paradise (1986), Milk and Honey (1988), The Mighty Quinn (1989), Cool Runnings (1993) and Almost Heaven (2005).Hyatt was the recipient of Jamaica's national honour of Order of Distinction (OD), and was awarded the Institute of Jamaica Centenary Medal and the silver Musgrave Medal.
He played the part of Bill Reynolds' father in the film version of Love Thy Neighbour.
He died of lung cancer on 1 January 2007.

Derice Bannock a un rêve dans la vie : aller aux Jeux Olympiques et faire aussi bien que son père, Ben Bannock, célèbre sprinter jamaïcain et champion olympique du 200 mètres à Mexico, en 1968. Pour cela, Derice s'entraîne dur tous les jours et peut compter sur le soutien de sa femme et de son ami de toujours, Sanka Coffie, un bon vivant insouciant, possédant des royales rasta dreadlocks sept fois champion de push cart. Le jour des sélections sur 100 mètres, Derice est considéré comme le favori, mais à mi-course, son concurrent Junior Bevil, fils d'un riche bourgeois de Kingston, qui court contre l'avis de son père, l'entraîne dans sa chute, ainsi qu'un troisième athlète : Yul Brenner. Malgré les réclamations, le président de la Fédération jamaïcaine refuse de faire recourir la course.

One night in the Kenyan grasslands, Jackie Leeds and her family's native friend and servant, Tembo Murumbi, chase a young galago about its preferred habitat, a baobab tree. Tembo catches the small animal and offers it to Jackie as a gift; she names the small bushbaby 'Komba'. A year or so passes since this first encounter, and one day at church, Komba's playfulness causes commotion, disrupting the daily hymn. Feeling defeated, the pastor yields the podium to Professor Crankshaw, who takes the opportunity to bid farewell to a number of church members. Jackie notices that Crankshaw, 'Cranky' as she calls him, looks firmly into her father's eyes as he speaks, and she becomes alarmed. After church, Jackie's suspicions are confirmed when her father explains that, due to the new powers in Kenya's government, his employment as a game warden is likely to be terminated. They'll leave for London where he'll fill an opening at the zoo. Jackie is upset at the news, specially when she learns that Komba will have to be left behind. For Jackie, leaving Africa means leaving the home she's known all of her life: her school, her friends, and the grave of her mother, Penelope Leeds, who had been killed in the uprising of 1961.

Au XIX siècle, à la suite d'un terrible cyclone à la Jamaïque, des colons anglais décident d'envoyer leurs enfants par bateau en Angleterre. En cours de route, le bateau est attaqué par un navire pirate commandé par Chavez. Les enfants se retrouvent embarqués à l'insu des pirates sur leur bateau et devront vivre avec eux les différents péripéties de leurs aventures. Peu habitué à de tels passagers, le capitaine Chavez finit par s'humaniser à leur contact alors que l'équipage pense que les enfants leur portent malheur .
