Annapoorna (or Annapurna) is a well-known Telugu film actress for her portrayal as mother, mother-in-law, and grand mother, aunt, etc. She started her film career as a heroine paired with Mohan Babu (debut film) in a blockbluster Telugu movie Swargam Narakam (Nandi Award for Best Film) directed by Dasari Narayana Rao in 1975.
She is well remembered for her character roles in Samsaram Oka Chadarangam, Muthyamantha Muddu, Swargam Narakam, Assembly Rowdy and acted in almost all of the 1980s movies with Chiranjeevi as lead hero namely Donga, Chattamtho Porattam, Sangarshana, Raakshashudu, Trinetrudu, Marana Mrudangam, Khaidi No 786, Jwala etc.
She also acted in Tamil movies such as Nadodi Pattukkaran, and Varavu Nalla Uravu etc. and in Hindi movies such as Waqt Ka Shahenshah, and Kanoon Ki Hathkadee etc. With couple of years gap, she started her second innings in 2007 with Telugu movies Evadithe Nakenti and Godava as mother and grand mother respectively.
Annapoorna who played the role of heroine to Mohan Babu in Swargam Narakam movie also played the role of mother to Mohan Babu in Assembly Rowdy movie released in 1991. Strangely, both the movies were blockblusters in the history of Telugu film industry.

Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum starts with Devika (Nayantara) documenting illegal mining in Bellary by Reddappa (Milind Gunaji), a ruthless business tycoon. The film opens with the history of a village called Kshetram. An idol of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy from the temple is hidden in a forest in order to save it from invaders. Generations of the Rayulu family have struggled to reinstate the idol in the temple but were unable to do so. After few generations, Veera Narasimha Rayalu (Jagapati Babu) a powerful village leader of same dynasty want to finish the ancient ritual, which is critical, to the well being of his village. Veera Narasimha Rayalu changes his name to Naga Penchalayya being the process of the ritual, but he has been killed by his own uncle (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and his cousin brother Viswanadha Rayulu (Adithya Menon) to conquer his position and property. The ritual remains incomplete So, his wife Lakshmi (Priyamani) decides to continue the process, changes herself as Naga Penchalamma to complete the ritual as her husband's last wish. Naga Penchalamma and her entire family also killed by same baddies. Before dying, she takes an oath that in any circumstances she will come back to succeed the machine. After 25 years Chakradeva Rayalu / Chakri (Kick Shyam) is the son of Viswanadha Rayulu falls in love with Sohini Agrawal (again Priyamani), who is eerily similar to Lakshmi. When Sohini comes into the ancestral house of Chakri, strange supernatural events happen and powerful spirits and athmas come into the picture. What happens to Sohini? Will the ritual be completed? That is the story.

The first scene of the film shows Arya (Allu Arjun) being carried into an operation theatre. His friend Ajay (Navdeep) narrates how Arya changed his life. In their childhood, Arya stays in an orphanage where he has no friends or family. By force, he befriends Ajay who also is in that orphanage. One day, Ajay is adopted by a rich family and leaves the orphanage behind him. As time passes, he becomes a big shot business tycoon and has his own software company, but Arya becomes a drunkard and does anything for Ajay. Ajay feels ashamed to say that Arya is his friend and avoids him. But Arya convinces him that he would be a good boy if he be given a job in Ajay's company. Die hard friend Arya just wanted to stay close to Ajay. But Ajay has one condition that if Arya is proven as a "bad boy" in the office, he has to leave the company. Thus, Arya converts himself into a " Mr. Perfect" without any defect and joins the company. Everyone in the company are fond of Arya, especially Shanti (Shraddha Das) who is madly in love with him. One day Geeta (Kajal Aggarwal) joins the company and Ajay and Arya both immediately fall in love with her. Arya is now Geeta's Team Lead. In a lift one day, while Geeta converses with Arya, suddenly he kisses her. In many other instances also, Arya keeps confessing his love to Geetha without anyone knowing about it. Ajay now wants to get rid of Arya. So, he crashes his own (Ajay's) car and weaves a story that Arya has crashed him. He did so, so that everyone would accuse Arya and he would be fired. At this juncture, Geeta comes to know that Ajay too loves her.

As a secretary of CM, he takes up several issues and answers them. In the process, he realizes that the CM is crooked. Meanwhile, Suri meets Rajeshwari (Shraddha Das) and falls in love with her but as destiny would have it, his life takes a turn when Sriramulu is killed by the baddies (Anand Raj, Supreeth) including the CM. Sriramulu is more like the godfather for Suribabu and before he dies, he takes a word from him that he would enter politics. True to his word, Suribabu contests as an independent from Sreeramulu constituency and wins with a huge margin, with a twist of change He accumulates a group of 25 such independents. The results suggest a hung assembly. Suribabu offers to support whichever party that makes him the chief minister. The rest of the story is all about how Suribabu brings change with the power bestowed on him.
