Andrew Knott est un acteur anglais, né le 22 novembre 1979 à Salford, Manchester.
Il a commencé sa carrière très jeune à la télévision britannique en tant que figurant et à la radio. Il s'est entraîné à l'Atelier Théâtre d'Oldham. Sa première apparition sur grand écran a été pour le film Le Jardin Secret (1993) de Agnieszka Holland, aux côtés de Maggie Smith, et adapté du roman éponyme de Frances Hodgson Burnett. Il a participé l'année suivante à une autre adaptation produite également par Warner Bros sur grand écran, Prince Noir. Plus récemment, il a joué dans le film The History Boys, en 2006, aux côtés de Richard Griffiths. On a pu également le retrouver dans un épisode de L'Inspecteur Lewis en 2008. Biographie
Knott was born in Salford. His first acting was done in British television and radio programmes. He was trained in the Oldham Theatre Workshop. Knott's first major film was Warner Brothers' The Secret Garden in 1993, in which he played Dickon Sowerby. He went on to play Joe Green in Black Beauty. In the late 1990s, he played Liam Shepherd in Coronation Street.
In 2004, he returned to theatre to act in Alan Bennett's The History Boys. The National Theatre production later toured the world, affording Knott his Broadway debut. He reprised his role on BBC radio, and in Bennett's film adaptation which was directed by the National's Nicholas Hytner. Knott most recently appeared in the TV series Drop Dead Gorgeous, Gavin and Stacey and the BBC 3 drama series Spooks: Code 9 as Rob.
