Ambika is an Indian film actress known for her works predominantly in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada films. She was one of the top heroines for an decade from 1978 to 1989. Her younger sister Radha was also an actress. They acted together in a number of south Indian films and during their peak careers they owned a movie studio called "ARS Studios". In 2013 they converted ARS Studios to a hotel complex.
She has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Shinu John in 1988 and they lived in the US. The couple have 2 sons Ramkesav and Rishikesh. But however, the couple got divorced in 1997 and Ambika returned to India and resumed her acting career. Her second marriage was with actor Ravikanth in 2000 which was also got divorced in 2002. She currently resides in Chennai.

She has two younger sisters, Radha and Mallika, and two younger brothers, Arjun and Suresh.She has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Shinu John in 1988 and they lived in the US. The couple have 2 sons Ramkesav and Rishikesh. But however, the couple got divorced in 1997 and Ambika returned to India and resumed her acting career. Her second marriage was with actor Ravikanth in 2000 which was also got divorced in 2002. She currently resides in Chennai.

The movie revolves around a Muslim couple Noorjahan (Mamta Mohandas) aka Noora and Shahjahan (Krish J. Sathaar) .The movie begins showing Noora in the hospital for delivery. It seems that she is having some complications. Depressed Shahjahan goes away from the hospital just only to meet with an accident hitting his head to a stone. The movie takes a flashback. Noorjahan is a social activist, who also wins 1 crore rupees from the game show Crorepati to offer it to the orphanage. And Shahjahan is a Sufi singer. She uses "Phone-a-Friend" lifeline, and calls Shahjahan to help her answer the last question which was based on Sufi singers, to which he gives her the correct answer. Soon it is telecasted on the Tv. From that day onwards Shahjahan tries to meet Noora whom he has never met. Finally she falls in love and proposes Shahjahan in a public mall for marriage. In the wedding ceremony of Dr.Sreeparvathi (Archana Kavi) Noora's close and childhood friend Shahjahan kisses Noora to teach her a lesson for insulting him in public, in front of everyone to which all blame Noora for this. Shahjahan regrets and asks Noora to forgive and finally both get married with a lot of celebrations. One day Noora falls, with blood coming out of her mouth and soon it is revealed that she is pregnant. But Dr.Sajan Varghese (Nedumudi Venu) tells the couple to abort the child as Noora was suffering from DCM (Dilated Cardiomyopathy) causing her heart to work slowly which may create complications during the delivery and even death. But the couple decide to continue with her pregnancy and leaves the rest in God's hands. Finally the delivery date comes and Noora is admitted to the hospital. The whole town prays for Noora as she was good activist. Now the movie comes back to Shahjahan's accident. Shahjahan has got severe head injury. By God's grace Noora and her baby are out of danger. Both Shahjahan and Noora are in the same ICU room. And seeing Shahjahan injured her health becomes critical. The doctor advises the family to get a heart donor as Noora's heart has to be tranplanted immediately within 48 hours. Finally a donor is found and Noora is alright. When the media asks the doctors about the donor's name Dr.Varghese replies that he is a man who loved Noora and touched her heart who comes out to be Brother James (Ramesh Pisharody).

The film is set in a fictitious poverty-ridden village of Gowlipady, which is virtually ruled by the ruthless zamindari Bhandaravathi (Sukanya). Kashi (Nedumudi Venu) is a lottery salesman. He is the only literate person of his village. Once, a lottery sold by him happens to win the first prize of 5 Crore Indian Rupee. Greedy Kashi tries to get back the lottery ticket but doesn't know to whom he has sold the ticket to. So, he conducts a treat exclusive to all those who buys ticket from him and to gain entrance need to give their tickets back. As the treat ends, all the tickets he have sold except one is collected. Later, he comes to know that the one remaining ticket, the same ticket which won the prize, sold to Anthony (Nandu) is still not collected.

Walter Vanangamudi (Vishal Krishna) and Kumbudren Saamy (Arya) are half-brothers, who constantly fight and try to outdo each other. Both brothers are pickpockets and get encouragement from their respective mothers. Walter's mother Maryamma (Ambika) encourages her son to steal and continue their "family tradition". However, Walter, an aspiring actor with an effeminate touch, is rather interested in arts than committing crimes. The Zamindar (G. M. Kumar), referred to as 'Highness' by the community, takes an affinity towards Saamy and Walter and treats them as his own family. He constantly encourages Walter to take up acting seriously and to be friendly towards his brother. Walter is smitten by a Police Constable Baby (Janani Iyer) from whom he attempts to steal after being dared by his brother to prove himself. She finds him completely amusing and eventually falls for him. He returns several stolen goods from his home and from Kumbudren Samy to rescue her from being dismissed and goes to great lengths to impress her. Kumbudren Samy falls for a college student Thenmozhi (Madhu Shalini) who is intimidated by his rough ways at first but reciprocates his love later on.

The film is a journey through the minds of Mohanakrishnan, a fashion photographer living in Kochi. Vijaykant (Gopichand) is an orphan who dreams of becoming a police officer from childhood. Within three days of his appointment, Gangaram is elevated to an Encounter Specialist by DIG Bharath Nandan (Nassar).Gangaram and his team of four cops start their hunt for two Underworld gangs, first Talwar gang operating within the city and second Khalid (Kelly Dorjee) gang operating from Malaysia. First Gangaram cleans up Talwar gang and plans to travel Kenya where Khalid is on a one-day private trip. When Gangaram is getting ready for Kenya, Police raid the house and prove his illegal contacts with Mafia. Gangaram finds it very soon that he was trapped in the plan of Khalid and DIG Bharathnandan who used him as a tool to clean their Mafia opponent, Talwar.In an interview by the Telugu new channel 9, Gangaram starts cry that his own department framed him and states that he will become a gangster and kill everyone who was involved in framing him including the DIG and ACP. An adamant Gangaram escapes from the police and re-establishes himself as Gangu Bhai, the Mafia Don. Pavitra, the love interest of Gangaram finds out her mother was killed by the DIG. In a friendly encounter, he kills the DIG and goes to Malaysia where he meets Khalid. After he gets there he gets beat up by Khalid but he escapes and in a wild chase, Gangaram and Khalid battle on a helicopter rooftop and Gangaram kills Khalid and puts 10 bullets in him. The movie ends when Audience finds out that Gangaram has been set up by the DGP (Prakash Raj) for eliminating all the gangsters. He then asks the DGP to remove all the cases against him so that he can come back and join the Police force again, but the DGP says it's not that easy as he had killed police officers too. Instead, he tells him to start and run a mafia gang in Malaysia and operate there so that He can be of a relief that Mafia Gang is under Police itself. Gangaram then calls his gang and Pavitra to come to Malaysia and gets settled there.

The movie has Navya Nair as Yamuna who is preparing for the big day in her life that is for her marriage.
