Alexx O'Nell (born Alexander Leonard O’Neill on July 26, 1980) is an American-born actor and musician who is based in India and has appeared in films and television programs in English and Indian languages. His major feature films include Cheeni Kum, Madrasapattinam, Urumi, Joker and Chittagong.
O'Nell began his acting career with community and regional theater in the United States, later working in television advertisements in India and internationally, and finally landing character roles and appearances in films such as the Hindi feature Cheeni Kum (2007) and the English feature Loins of Punjab Presents (2007). He later gained recognition as a contestant on the hugely popular Indian celebrity dance competition Nach Baliye (season 3, 2007).
O'Nell's first leading role in a big-budget production came with Madrasapattinam(2010). Following Madrasapattinam, O'Nell returned to television to star in the Indian primetime historical drama Jhansi Ki Rani in mid-2010, and in early 2011 he also appeared in a guest role on the drama Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein. Late 2011 saw the release of the Hindi Language feature Jo Dooba So Paar (2011) with O'Nell in a supporting role. After almost a year's gap, O'Nell was seen in a lead role in Shirish Kunder’s Joker(2012) followed shortly thereafter by a cameo in A. L. Vijay's Thaandavam (2012) released in late August and late September 2012 respectively. Finally, O'Nell starred in Bedabrata Pain's much awaited Chittagong(2012), released to overwhelming critical acclaim on October 12, 2012. Perhaps his most significant role to date, O'Nell appeared in a double-lead role in the multilingual Urumi(2011), (and the unreleased English-language Vasco Da Gama, (in which he plays a triple role)) directed by acclaimed Indian director Santosh Sivan. While Urumi has released in select markets (Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu) in 2011 and 2012, it has not yet released in Hindi or English. The stage of completion and expected release date for the English-language Vasco Da Gama are unknown. O'Nell's most recent releases were the much awaited Malayalam films Gangster and Manglish both featuring O'Nell along side South-Indian superstar Mammootty releasing in April and July 2014, respectively. He is rumoured to be a part of the Suraj Sharma starrer Umrika, and he is currently shooting for what was known as Pooja Bhatt's Hindi-language film Bad, re-titled as director Prawaal Raman's "Main Aur Charles" (2015).
Following a high-profile relationship with Indian actress Sweta Keswani, O'Nell and Keswani were married in October and November 2008 in four different ceremonies.

Preferring to keep their relationship out of the public eye, the two initially issued a joint statement to the media, but later both parties broke their silence. Explaining why they were apprehensive to speak to the media O'Nell commented in an interview "People like drama and sensationalism, but unfortunately or fortunately, there's none here. Sweta and I are very close and there's no bad blood. I wish people understand that we wish well for each other.” Keswani cited “different goals, desires and needs [as well as] professional commitments [that] kept us apart” as reason for the breakup. The separation and subsequent relationship appears amicable, Keswani commenting: “Alexx … remains my close friend” and O'Nell adding: "We've got no plans of cutting each other out of our lives".
In mid-2011 speculation began regarding O'Nell's relationship with well-known Indian actress and fashion designer Shama Sikander. While O'Nell has never publicly commented on the relationship, the two were spotted with increasing frequency throughout 2011 and into 2012 and speculation continued until Sikander confirmed that they were indeed in a relationship in an interview which featured on the cover of Showtime Magazine December 2011 issue. More recently, a June 2012 interview with Sikander discloses that the two met through friends at a sundown party .. and that she was won over nearly immediately after he played some music for her ... [original] compositions ... to be featured in an album that will release soon.

The movie revolves around Charles, an enigmatic con man and a vicious killer, and the lives he touched with his inescapable charm and mysterious personality.We follow Charles, who is literally evil personified, as he manipulates innumerable people to facilitate his jail break. The thin line between his victims and accomplices include a copywriter of an international ad agency clinging on to Charles for hope, a royal princess seeking adventure in an otherwise bland life, a young hippie girl hopelessly drawn towards him, and an innocent law student Mira madly in love with the dreams sold by Charles amongst various others - from a financial wizard, an extortionist from Haryana to a helpless prison supervisor. Bit by bit, the character of Charles is revealed through all those who encountered him. Probably the only person who interacted with Charles the least, Commissioner Amod Kanth, was affected by him the most. We see the impact of Charles on all through the eyes of Amod Kanth - and their ever raging battle of good and evil, where good eventually wins but evil always resurfaces. This story, set in the 1980s, shows how Charles escapes from Indias most securely guarded prison and is then subsequently arrested once again in Goa. It reveals the story behind the seemingly simple cat and mouse game between Amod Kanth and Charles. But more importantly, the movie gives the world a peek into the dangerous mind of Charles, how he led different people to perceive him differently, how he filled the vacuum in their lives and ultimately, his dark world where right and wrong blend into a charming and mystique grey existence.

On 1 January 2010, a sudden bomb blast occurs in London, killing several people. The scene shifts to the same place after exactly a year, where a blind man Kenny Thomas (Vikram) lays flowers on the memorial and mourns someone's death during the bomb blast. He is then given some secret details by a mysterious woman. Kenny then takes a taxi driven by Satyan (Santhanam) who is a comical Tamil guy. He drops Kenny at a place and waits for him to return. But Kenny actually goes inside to kill someone. He kills him and throws him down. Seeing the corpse, Satyan flees. During this entire scene, Kenny is shown to produce a sound from his mouth, to find his way, which is later shown as echolocation. Later Kenny is shown to play piano in a local church, and he is blind he has so many people who care for him. In the meantime, Kenny carries out two more murders, taking the same taxi driven by the innocent Satyan, following instructions from the mysterious woman.

From the executives of Nirvana Group, Krishna Das (Prithviraj Sukumaran) learns that his ancestral property in Kerala, leased out to a non-governmental organisation (NGO) by his late-grandfather, is rich in minerals and is free to be sold as the lease period has expired. The multinational mining company [Nirvana Group] offers him a large sum of money as advance. The NGO currently runs a tribal school in the land property, which is situated inside the Kannadi Forest Range. When Krishna Das and his friend Thanseer (Prabhu Deva) reach the plot, they are kidnapped by the local tribal men to a cave deep in the forest. Krishna Das meets their chief Thangachan (Arya) in the cave. Thangachan explains to him that he is the descendant of certain Chirakkal Kelu Nayanar.

Cheeni Kum focuses on Buddhadev Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan). Buddhadev is the 64-year-old chef and owner of London's top Indian restaurant, Spice 6. He lives with his 85-year-old mother (Zohra Sehgal) and his only friend and confidante is his 9-year-old neighbour, Sexy (Swini Khara) who is diagnosed with cancer and been to the hospital seven times. Buddhadev Gupta is an arrogant, ego-centric, pompous man with a singular passion in life — cooking. He is a confirmed bachelor who has never been in love until 34-year-old Nina Verma (Tabu) walks into his restaurant and his life. Nina is a beautiful and charming Indian woman. Cool, calm, quiet, always smiling but independent and strong willed. The two extreme in age, character and attitude, meet and against all odds, fall in love. They decide to get married and like any Indian man, Buddhadev respectfully comes to ask Nina's father, Omprakash Verma (Paresh Rawal), who is a true Gandhian living in Delhi, for her hand. The main problem here is the Buddhadev is older than Nina's father. Omprakash is horrified when Buddhadev asks his daughter's hand and intentionally refuses, he attempts to commit suicide by starving himself to death. Buddha explained to him why he loved Nina and what kind of father is he keeping Nina single for 34 years. He left them with his mother and is horrified when Sexy's father (Vinay Jain) calls him and said that Sexy just died. Omprakash finally realises his mistake and let Nina go after Buddhadev and with his in-laws family, he let them go to London to his restaurant. He bonds with Omprakash when he tells him he got tickets to the cricket match.
