The film is shot in the style of a reality TV series. Five new contestants are selected in a random lottery and, along with the winner of the previous series, comprise the six Contenders. The film purposely leaves many key details unexplained, as the viewer is supposed to be watching only what the creators actually aired in the fictional TV show. How the show became so powerful as to randomly select people to be killed is unexplained, but the Contenders treat it as something they cannot control. Contenders are given a pistol, though they may acquire other weapons, and the last one left alive is the winner. Contestants are forced to play the game, regardless of their wishes. A contender who wins three tours of the game is freed from it.

In Japan, a school's movie club was shut down when one member disappeared and another was hospitalized after suffering a nervous breakdown. Seven years later, two students, Maki and Ai, restart the club with the intention of making a horror film based on the events that led to the organization's closure. Due to masturbating to Clown Porn, college student and sex addict Michael Brichums misses a date with his girlfriend, Carrie, prompting Carrie to dump him. Later, Mike goes to a sex shop, where he finds a magazine featuring Andromeda Strange, an alt porn star whose films are so extreme they have been banned in numerous countries. Mike asks the clerk about Andromeda, and is told that obscenity laws prohibit the store from selling her merchandise, but he can probably find her films online. When Mike leaves, the clerk disappears, leaving another employee (who was in the washroom) to find Mike's receipt, and wonder "Who the Hell rang this up?"

"Slashers" est le nom d’une émission de télé réalité nipponne, la plus célèbre et la plus regardée au monde. Le principe en est fort simple : six candidats doivent pénétrer dans le "Hangar de la mort", un vaste labyrinthe où vont sévir trois "Slashers" aussi délirants qu’impitoyables : Charlie le Tronçonneur, le Révérend et le Dr Dépeceur. Un seul objectif pour les candidats: échapper à une mort atroce durant un peu plus d’une heure, devant la steadycam attentive de Hideo. Hormis l’interdiction de gêner ce dernier et de bouger durant les pauses publicitaires, tout est permis afin de s’en sortir. Aucun joueur n’ayant survécu à la dernière émission, la cagnotte s’élève cette fois à 12 millions de dollars, chaque "Slasher" tué rapportant un bonus de 2 millions. Devon, Michael, Rebecca, Rick, Megan et Brenda sont les nouveaux candidats de cette émission "spéciale américains".

In the intro, a mother reads the story of Hansel and Gretel to her young boy. The setting then moves to the present day, where The Man goes about his day-to-day routines and occasionally chats with others on his computer, where he looks for someone who shares his cannibalistic fantasies. The Man meets with several people he had chatted with, but he either rejects them or is rejected (and in one case attacked) by them, except for The Flesh, a suicidal man who volunteers to be killed and eaten by The Man. The Flesh travels to The Man from Berlin, and the two bond, having sex and frolicking in the nude in and around The Man's home.
