Aksharaya is about a 12-year-old boy (Isham Samzudeen), and his parents. His father is a retired High Court Judge Ravindra Randeniya and his mother (Piyumi Samaraweera) is a famous magistrate in the city.
Suwisal (Ravindra Randeniya) arrives at what seems to be an old family house in the middle of the night. The housekeeper explains that the rebels have asked everyone in the village to keep the lights off, and that for all, times have been bad. Suwisal recalls brief memories of the piano and a young girl shyly peering out behind the drapes at him and his aunts.
Bande (Cyril Wickramage) and wife Siriya (Anoja Weerasinghe) live in a village north of Colombo. They are tenant farmers, reliant on the stability of their landlord. Concurrent with the tenant farming and small businesses in the village, the hunter (Daya Tennekoon), Bande and Siriya's neighbor, grows cannabis in the nearby forest.
Percy Peiris (Wasantha Kotuwella) and his new wife, Princy (Indira Jonklas), are on their honeymoon in the wet zone at an isolated guesthouse. There, Percy starts having violent hallucinations in the form of flashbacks every time he tries to become intimate with Princy.
