London's thieves are at the mercy of a super fence, who is in on every big jewellry robbery in the city. If the thieves won't split the loot with him, 'The Squeaker' shops them to the Police. A disgraced ex-detective believes there may be an opportunity to clear his name if he can capture 'The Squeaker'.
Ollie Radway (Mary Boland) is a daffy dowager who, with equally eccentric brother John (Hugh Herbert), runs a thriving newspaper. After firing the managing editor for failing to keep her niece Virginia (Carol Hughes) out of the newspaper business, she hands the job to David Partridge (Frank McHugh), a minor employee with a crush on the girl. In short order, Partridge is assigned to keep Virginia away from fortune-hunting editorial artist Dimitri Kyeff (Mischa Auer)
Donald arrive dans le décor romantique du Mexique. Une belle jeune fille russe vient à Vienne en tant que maitresse du Baron Engrem. Elle y rencontre un jeune officier dont elle tombe amoureuse. Pour éviter que son protecteur ne tue son amant en duel, elle va lui faire croire qu'elle ne l'aime plus, mais se rend compte qu'elle est incapable de vivre sans lui.
Tom 'Cheyenne Tommy' Wade (Tom Tyler), is a lawman who poses as a gang member in an attempt to expose Girard (Lon Chaney, Jr.), a fraudulent cattle thief. He steals one thousand dollars from the thief, promising to return it if he can join the gang, while plotting a way to expose them as thieves. As Cheyenne is let into the gang, he begins to blackmail the leader, forcing him to let more law enforcers join the gang, eventually outnumbering them and finally arresting the thieves for good.
Following his graduation from law school, Senator Robert Maddox's (Hall) adopted son Paul (Montgomery) is offered a job at Bill Mellon's (Kruger) law firm. Mellon, an unscrupulous criminal lawyer, is actually Paul's real father, but keeps the fact a secret from him. When Paul finds out about Mellon's corruption, he quits and gets a job as assistant district attorney. Soon after taking the position, Paul spearheads a state investigation into legal malpractice. This worries Mellon and prompts him to assign a crook to implicate those investigating him in a scandal. When the crook finds out the truth about Paul's birth he is accidentally shot by Mellon in an effort to conceal the information. Paul successfully prosecutes his own father, who is convicted of second-degree murder because he refused to discuss the content of the papers over which he and Mitchell were struggling, thus protecting Paul and his mother.
