Yaara is an upcoming Hindi drama film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. It features Irrfan Khan, Vidyut Jamwal, Amit Sadh and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. It is an official remake of the 2011 French film Les Lyonnais. The film started its shooting in the first week of June 2014.

Synopsis

Histoire de 'Chaukdi Gang' et des deux hommes qui ont aidé à bâtir ce gang joué par Vidyut Jammwal et Amit Sadh. Ce gang de quatre, qui comprend Vijay Varma, est arrêté par la police et purge sa peine en prison. Cependant, les deux hommes qui dirigeaient autrefois la contrebande de drogue, le trafic d'armes et le pillage luttent à leur manière pour échapper à leur passé et recommencer une nouvelle vie après avoir été libérés.

A reporter interviews Paan Singh Tomar (played by Irrfan), a dacoit who is in the news for killing 9 people of a community. Answering questions about himself, the story goes in a flashback in year 1950. Paan Singh works in the Army while his wife and mother live in Morena. He surprises his seniors in the Army with his athletic skills. Though he was not interested in sports, he joins the sports division because there were no limits on their diet. Picked for the 5000 metres race's training, he was persuaded to run for the 3000 metre steeplechase by his coach. He participates in the Indian National Games and wins the gold medal in the steeplechase event 7 years in a row. In 1958 he participates in the Asian Games at Tokyo, but couldn't win because of his inability to adjust with the track spikes only given to him in the final event. He felt frustrated when he was not allowed to go the borders to fight in the 1962 and 1965 wars because sportsmen were not allowed to fight in them. In 1967, he participated in the International Military Games and wins the gold medal in the steeplechase.

Raja Mishra (Saif Ali Khan) gatecrashes into a marriage while trying to escape from a brawl. The bride's cousin, Rudra Tripathi (Jimmy Shergill), and Raja form a friendship upon Raja revealing that he is a uninvited guest. While in process of seducing the mujra dancer, Raja overhears a plot by Lallan Tiwari (Chunky Pandey) to execute everyone in the wedding upon instructions from a land lord wanting to use Rudra's uncle's land for poppy farming. Raja warns everyone about the impending attack and Raja and Rudra fight off the attacking Lallan Singh's gang. Rudra's uncle (Sharat Saxena) sees the potential in Raja and Rudra forming an alliance for offering protection to political personalities and offers them to join his gang. Not wanting to enter the world of politics, they refuse and Rudra's uncle advices them to take refuge from Lallan's gang in jail. In a later incident Rudra's uncle is killed by the poppy field owner with help of Lallan Singh.
