Synopsis
When she moves from Idaho to Venice, Los Angeles because of a new job offer, Emily Briggs (Gilbert) quickly meets Jason Barnes (Valentine), a friendly neighbor who works as a set decorator for movies. He invites her to his home in Santa Monica to pick up an old table which she can use at her new place, though abuses the meeting to rape her. Emily unsuccessfully struggles to get away, and fears for her life throughout the rape. Her cousin Marty (Bernard) insists for her to report the case, but the District Attorney denies the case because she voluntarily went to his house, and there were no witnesses present. The fact that he was arrested five times before with the same allegations does not influence the case. Emily tries to move on with her life, but finds out that she is not able to share intimacy with her boyfriend Trey Cousins (Tubb).Acteurs

A recent transplant from California, Dr. Paula Spencer has just lost her husband and is about to begin her new job at a local hospital, While she is there, a seemingly loving mother, Monica Shaw, brings her son, Eric, in for treatment for his illness. Brontë (Andie MacDowell) est une jeune New-Yorkaise passionnée par l'écologie, l'herboristerie et les plantes. Le mariage est donc célébré et Brontë obtient l'appartement. Mais rapidement les services de l'immigration mènent une enquête afin de s'assurer de la sincérité du mariage. Les deux "jeunes mariés" que tout oppose vont devoir cohabiter quelques jours et se préparer ensemble à l'entretien de sincérité des inspecteurs de l'immigration.
