Vennila Veedu (Tamil: வெண்நிலா வீடு; English: Vennila's House) is a 2014 Indian Tamil family drama film, written and directed by Vetri Mahalingam. The film is based on a theme similar to the short story, The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant. Produced by P. V. Arun, the film stars Mirchi Senthil and Vijayalakshmi in the lead. Cinematography is by D. Kannan, editing by V. J. Sabu Joseph while the soundtrack is scored by Dhanraj Manickam. The film released on 10 October 2014 to mixed reviews.
Synopsis
The film tells the story of a village couple, Karthik (Senthil) and Thenmozhi (Vijayalakshmi), who migrate to the city after their marriage. Karthik works as a manager in a firm, and they live happily and help everyone around according to their capacity and have a beautiful daughter, Vennila. Meanwhile, Ilavarasi (Srinda Ashab), a new neighbor in their apartment arrives, and she lives right next door. Ilavarasi is the daughter of a rich money lender. He is a greedy loan shark who goes to any extent to get his loaned money back from the people who borrowed it. He loves his daughter and will get anything she points at and will do anything for her. Ilavarasi, as a result of this upbringing, is an arrogant, spoilt brat of a woman and she is married to a spineless man who does whatever she bids him to do. Though Thenmozhi does not have a good opinion about Ilavarasi in the beginning, they become friends after an incident where Ilavarasi thrashes a stalker who was harassing Thenmozhi repeatedly over phone. Soon, the women become good friends and enjoy each other's company over the day and spend a lot of time together.Acteurs

The story revolves around three roommates, journalist J K Boss(Arya), photographer Nagaraj(Santhanam) and Cheenu (Premji) leading an unkempt and debt-ridden life in a shoddy apartment. J K's ditsy fiancée, Madhumita, is an air hostess who agrees to deliver a package for Vladimir Dragunsky (Kim Bodnia) to Nassar, without realizing its contents or that Nassar is a gangster. Madhumita asks J K to deliver the package. JK, in turn, asks Nagaraj to do so. But Nagaraj is unable to do so as he is experiencing 'Chennai Belly'. Nagaraj hands Madhumita's package to Cheenu for delivery to Nassar, along with a package containing his stool sample for delivery to Nagaraj's doctor. Cheenu mixes up the two packages which makes Nassar furious and he starts the investigation by interrogating Vladimir.

The entire film shoot was at Golden Rock, Tiruchirappalli. Murugan & Kesavan realise the real value of the life & they decide that life is nothing without doing work so they both go to their respective homes & while seeing their father's photo Murugan & Kesavan write that " DAD IS MY GOD " & " MY FATHER IS HERO " respectively.

The movie is told through the narration of Ashley (Sunny Wayne) who is working in merchant navy & he is signing off in kochi for the second time. The movie plots ahead with Ashley recollecting the events happened in his last sign off at Kochi . Rasool (Fahadh Faasil) is a tourist taxi driver from a modest area in kochi city. He falls in love with Anna (Andrea Jeremiah) a Latin Christian girl who works as sales girl in a popular apparel shop. It takes time for Rasool to convince Anna and make her understand his love for her, he always follows her on the ways and on the boat on which she travels regularly to her work place.One day Ashley has to pick his relative from the textile shop.Using Rasool he plans to pick them up in his taxi and there he finds out that Anna is also going to return home in the same taxi.They make a quick pit stop at a church where Anna leaves her bag in the taxi. Rasool peeks inside and gets her number from the phone. Rasool is nervous and shy at first but his friends persuade him to text her through phone. no replies comes at first. then one day, Rasool approaches Anna and tells her that he loves her. Anna is surprised and stunned and moves away without an answer.The following day Rasool is sick and stays home. Anna boards the ship like every other day but is anxious since Rasool was not around anywhere she went that day. Anna seems restless as she cannot stop thinking about Rasool and why he had not come to see her.She could not wait longer and she desperately texts Rasool on the phone. Rasool on receiving the message rushes to see Anna. Anna further tells that she is scared and tells him it will not work out. Rasool then explains that he loves her no matter what and religion does not affect his affection towards her. Then Anna calls him one day to go to a convent where a nun tries to persuade Rasool to change his religion for marriage which Rasool declines. In the later part of the movie, we will understand that this nun is Anna's elder sister who had gone to convent after a love failure. Ashley who had a soft corner for her does not reveal it to her even after knowing about her love failure.

Dayalan (Samuthirakani) is a newly appointed teacher of a government school in Vanthaarangudi village near Thiruvannamalai city.
