Ultraman: The Next, released in Japan simply as ULTRAMAN (ウルトラマン, Urutoraman), is a 2004 Japanese science fiction tokusatsu film directed by Kazuya Konaka and produced by Tsuburaya Productions. A reimagining of the Ultraman character and franchise, the film was part of the "Ultra N Project", a three-phase experiment aimed to reinvent the franchise for an older audience.
Ultraman: The Next was released in Japan on December 18, 2004 but had its premiere at Grauman's Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on June 25, 2005.
Synopsis
Le premier lieutenant Shun'ichi Maki de la Japan Air Self-Defense Force est un prestigieux pilote de jet F-15 Eagle. Passionné de vol depuis son plus jeune âge, être pilote est son rêve ultime. Malheureusement, ses fonctions l'éloignent de sa femme, Yoko, qui finit toujours par être négligée, et de son fils, Tsugumu, qui souffre d'une maladie du sang congénitale et risque fort de mourir à un jeune âge. Maki décide de quitter l'armée de l'air. de consacrer plus de temps à sa famille et de consacrer tout ce qui lui reste à son fils. Il prend un travail à temps partiel en tant que guide touristique commercial dirigé par un groupe de personnes bienveillantes qui lui laissent le temps de travailler et de s'occuper de sa famille.Acteurs

Il y a 20 ans au Japon, les Ultra Kyodai (Kyodai = frères, ici Ultraman 1er du nom, Seven, Jack et Ace) ont combattu un monstre sanguinaire. Les Ultraman ont été capables de vaincre ce monstre après une longue bataille. Cependant afin de sceller l'animal, ils ont du abandonner tout leur énergie, et par la même occasion leur capacité de transformation. Il se sont alors installés sur Terre tels des humains normaux.20 ans plus tard, des forces extraterrestres essaient de libérer ce monstre sur Terre, Ultraman Mebius appelle alors les Ultra Kyodai à la rescousse.

Leading an expedition in Thuringia, Germany, Kousei Kougami was unearthing the resting place of one of the First OOO's alchemist to obtain legendary Lost Medals. However, upon the seal being undone, millions of Cell Medals erupt into a tower while creating a magical barrier that causes it the entire sit to flip over to Japan. This attracts Eiji Hino's attention as he and Ankh investigate. Arriving as Knights emerge from the tower after it dragged Kougami and Erika Satonaka in, Akira Date arrives as Eiji and him become Kamen Riders OOO and Birth to battle the Knights. The fight eventually attracts the other Greeds' attention before a new figure arrives and takes the Core Medals from all sides. Attempting to kill a boy that Kamen Rider OOO saves, the figure revealing his intent to become the New OOO of a new world before taking the Taka Medal and forcing everyone out with a barrier set up. Taking the boy to the Cous Coussier and learning his name to be Shun Wakaba, Eiji asks the boy why he was there before Shintaro Goto reveals their enemy to be known as Gara, one of the alchemists who created the Core Medals. Following Ankh when he senses something like Gara, Eiji and company find a strange girl called Belle as she presents 5 million yen to obtain Cell Medals from those she tricks so Gara can use the weight of human desire to execute his doomsday plan.

Hibiki and Asumu are on their way to a Makamou attack on the beach. Once they arrive there, they see dozens of people running from the massive Orochi, a beast rumored to be the strongest Makamou ever created. Once they arrive, Hibiki walks towards the Orochi and transforms, but all of his attacks prove useless against Orochi. The situation is made even more dire when Hibiki jumps in the way of an attack meant for Asumu. Taking the full force of the attack, Hibiki passes out as the Orochi swims away, leaving a panicking Asumu to get help. Hibiki ends up in the hospital and Asumu begins blaming himself for Hibiki's injuries. Feeling useless, he begins helping at Tachibana's, going through dozens of books to try to discover a way to defeat the Orochi. Upon coming across a book with his name on it, Asumu sits down and begins to read what turns out to be the history of Takeshi, the Oni and the Makamou war.

Ryotaro pursues the Molech Imagin to May 8, 2000 and becomes Kamen Rider Den-O to destroy the Imagin. Though it seemed the danger passed, it turned out that the Molech Imagin was under the employ of a rogue Kamen Rider named Gaoh who hijacks the DenLiner with his band of Imagin. After knocking Ryotaro out when he and Hana attempted to board the DenLiner while trapping all the Taros sae Ryutaros, Gaoh steals Owner's Master Pass with the intent to travel back in time via "God's Line" to Japan's Edo Period to retrieve the legendary God's Train, the GaohLiner. Trapped in 2000, with Ryotaro having lost all memory of Den-O, he and Hana encounter Ryotaro's younger self, later called Kotaro by the group, and the Imagin Sieg that they aided earlier. Momotaros arrives after escaping the DenLiner, but he is only able to possess Kotaro while Sieg's special talents allow him to still possess Ryotaro. Yuto shows up, taking everyone on the ZeroLiner to pursue Gaoh, with Kotaro joining them. Gaoh uses the DenLiner to damage the ZeroLiner before transforming into his Kamen Rider Form to send the gang into the Mesozoic Era before they are able to reach the Edo Period. While Yuto fixes the ZeroLiner, Ryotaro and Kyotaro talk, revealing that the event Ryotaro most regrets is losing the only remaining photograph of his parents, who died when he was young, because he cannot remember their faces without the photograph.
