Dingdong Dantes' company AgostoDos Pictures also served as one of the producers. The film is the first full-length Filipino film entirely shot on green screen chroma key. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics who praised its visual effects while criticizing the plot. Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles was followed up with a sequel in Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2 in 2014 which was also directed by Matti.
Synopsis
Makoy travels from Manila to the province of Pulupandan to visit and get back Sonia, who is pregnant with their child. While Fely, Sonia's mother, ruins Makoy's visits, Sonia's father, Nestor, and their helper, Bart, befriends Makoy. When Makoy and Nestor prepare for Sonia's birthday, Bart requests them to buy and cook a pig from his cousin Ringo, who will give them a discount. Makoy and Nestor go to the marketplace, where they are surprised by Ringo's kids. Ringo appears and apologizes, but couldn't offer a discount after an exchange of words. When Ringo leaves, Kulot, one of Ringo's sons (who knows Sonia is pregnant), sells Makoy and Nestor a young pig for a cheap price. Nestor hesitates, but Makoy agrees and buys it.Acteurs

After defeating the Tiktiks in Pulupandan, Makoy returns to Manila, along with Sonia, Nestor, and other survivors of the fight. But along the way, Kubots (hairy bat-like creatures) ambush their jeep and kill Sonia, an act of retribution to avenge the death of the Tiktiks. Makoy also loses an arm in the accident. 2 years later, Nestor, with nowhere to go and no one to live with, lives in Manila with the now-hopeless Makoy. But hope is still there.

Junie (Vhong Navarro), is an ice cream vendor, who goes around selling ice cream to children, and adults alike. After his shift, Junie gets in a predicament with a rival vendor Dodoy (Jay Manalo). Their manager, angered by their actions, demotes Junie to a warehouse guard. Dodoy celebrates, only to be demoted too, working a different shift than that of Junie. Junie goes home in a bad mood, until he sees the love of his life, Liana (Aubrey Miles). After dinner, Junie gets ready to sleep, to work a new job the next day. While on the job, Junie accidentally swallows a spider, thus giving him web slinging abilities, and becoming Gagamboy. After his shift, Dodoy comes in to his work, and leaves a sandwich unprotected. A roach slips into his sandwich, and as he eats it, he collapses, only to regain consciousness as a large roach. He hires two henchmen, and calls himself, Ipisman (Cockroachman). Junie and Dodoy, both try to win Liana's love. Dodoy practically gives up, only to return as Ipisman, to kidnap Liana to lure Gagamboy to his lair. There, he plans to finish off Gagamboy, but the tables turned and Dodoy was destroyed.
