This was the second "all-talking" motion picture released by Warner Bros. Synopsis
"The Terror", a killer whose identity is unknown, occupies an English country house that has been converted into an inn. Guests, including the spiritualist Mrs. Elvery and detective Ferdinand Fane, are frightened by strange noises and mysterious organ music. Connors and Marks, two men just released from jail, have sworn revenge upon "The Terror". Following a night of mayhem that includes murder, the identity of "The Terror" is revealed.Acteurs

Brooks (William Norton Bailey), a publisher and his publicist (Lee Moran) decide to boost the sales of a wartime book of flying experiences. They credit the book to popular author Robert Street (Edward Everett Horton), who is completely ignorant about aviation. Robert gets into all sorts of trouble in attempting to carry on the ruse, saving his friend's business but also attracting the attention of aviation-mad Grace Douglas (Patsy Ruth Miller). At first, he is able to carry out simple publicity events, but when he accidentally starts up an aircraft, his incredible aerobatics end with a landing in a haystack. When a race is staged between him and French ace Major Jules Gaillard (Armand Kaliz), it ends with Robert confessing he is no pilot, but still winning Grace's heart.

Pat (Winnie Lightner) does everything she can to keep the struggling Colonel Gowdy Big City Shows traveling circus afloat, despite an alcoholic though well-meaning Colonel Gowdy (Guy Kibbee) and disgruntled unpaid workers. She sings and dances, and even does a high dive into a shallow pool of water when the "Great Santini" quits just before a performance. One of her few comforts is her love for barker Joe Palmer (Donald Cook). He, however, seems less enthused about the relationship and regularly takes money from her. To add to her troubles, her younger sister Irene (Evalyn Knapp), whom she is having educated to become a lady, visits her during school vacation and wants to stay with the circus.

French General Birabeau has been sent to Morocco to root out and destroy the Riffs, a band of Arab rebels, who threaten the safety of the French outpost in the Moroccan desert. Their dashing, daredevil leader is the mysterious "Red Shadow". Margot Bonvalet, a lovely, sassy French girl, is soon to be married at the fort to Birabeau's right-hand man, Captain Fontaine. Birabeau's son Pierre, in reality the Red Shadow, loves Margot, but pretends to be a milksop to preserve his secret identity. Un premier meurtre sanglant dont la victime est une jeune fille est commis Rue Morgue à Paris. La victime a été atrocement démembrée, l'appartement est dévasté. Elle porte au poignet un bracelet hermétique munie de clochettes. D'autres crimes sont perpétrés dans la foulée (toujours de belles jeunes filles), toujours le même bracelet. L'assassin s'enfuit par les toits avec une extraordinaire agilité. Le commissaire Bonnard chargé de l'enquête se perd en conjectures et finit par accuser le Professeur Georges Dupin, l'assistant de Marais, un biologiste de renom qui possède un zoo et se livre à d'étranges expériences psychologiques. Marais est amoureux de la fiancée de Dupin, Jeannette, l'invite chez lui, lui montre un énorme gorille caché dans la cave tout en évoquant le souvenir de sa jeune et belle épouse qui s'est suicidée 5 ans plus tôt.Toutes les preuves semblent accabler Dupin, mais alors que ce dernier est incarcéré et nie farouchement, un nouveau meurtre est commis…il y a des témoins, il s'agit bien d'un singe et il faut faire vite car Jeannette est prisonnière de Marais qui lui a offert un bracelet à clochettes. Dupin soumet sa théorie à Bonnard.

Lorsque le dix-huitième amendement de la Constitution est abrogée, un ancien baron de la prohibition, Remy Marko (Broderick Crawford), décide de devenir honnête et se lance dans la production et la commercialisation légale de bière. Ce dernier doit jongler entre sa famille, le futur mariage de sa fille, son entreprise en faillite et l'enquête de la police afin d’épargner sa nouvelle image.

After his father brings disgrace on his family, Monte joins the Spanish–American War and goes with his regiment to the Philippines. Ellen Neal is hired as servant in the house of the wealthy Winfield family by the butler, Thomas Wroxton, who covets her romantically. Wroxton rules the household staff like a tyrant, demanding a large cut of their weekly wages as his "commission". To his great irritation, Neal resists his advances. Instead, during the family's vacation in New England she becomes romantically involved with the Winfields' son, Richard, who is a college student. They secretly marry and she falls pregnant by him before he returns to college. When the Winfields are told by a vengeful Wroxton that she is pregnant they are initially sympathetic until discovering that the child is their own grandson. A prolonged divorce suit then follows until the couple are finally reconciled.
