Starring John Bach and Darien Takle, it follows a man and his sister-in-law journeying into a mysterious island inhabited by the tribe Huwera Maori. It was produced in 1982 but not theatrically released in New Zealand until 1985.
Synopsis
Anthropologist Max Scarry (John Bach) mysteriously vanishes following his voyage to the island of Fjordland as part of his study on the reclusive Kiwi tribe Huwera Maori. The police believe him to be guilty of murder, after they find a woman's corpse in his island retreat. Max's spouse Ruth (Darien Takle) accompanies her brother-in-law Edward (also Bach) in uncovering the truth. They venture into the eerie island and are haunted by ghastly happenings. Finally, Edward snaps under mental pressure and his brother, apparently having died, possesses his body during a supernatural Huwera Maori procession.Acteurs

In the Northland town of Kaitaia in Spring 1978, nineteen-year-old Gerry Austin (Kelly Johnson) opportunistically steals a wallet accidentally dropped by a wealthy woman named Lesley Morris. Ce film néo-zélandais datant des années 80 semble lorgner du côté de Mad Max avec son monde futuriste complètement ravagé et avec son vilain méchant (qui a une tête du chef d'un cabinet d'assurances) qui possède un gros camion noir qui terrorise tout le monde mais heureusement qui a le gentil (qui va niquer la fille du méchant) avec sa moto pour mettre la pâtée aux méchants. J'ai lu que Le camion de la mort est toujours mieux que du bis italien post-apocalyptique alors c'est sur que ce film fait pas aussi fauché et que le camion en question a vraiment de la gueule mais chez les Ritals on rigole. Le camion de la mort aurait pu être un film sympa dans son genre mais le gros problème c'est une réalisation assez molle, les scènes d'action manque considérablement de punch, la musique est moyenne.

Darren et son ami Steve se rendent dans un théâtre clandestin où se produit une troupe d'énergumènes déformés. Fasciné par l'araignée du vampire Crepsley, Darren décide de la voler. À l'école, cette dernière s'échappe et mord Steve, qui va mourir si Darren ne trouve pas un antidote. Crepsley accepte de l'aider à condition de le transformer en demi-vampire afin d'accomplir quelques corvées quotidiennes. Steve, rêvant d'être un vampire, est recueilli par un homme mystérieux qui lui promet les commandes de toute une armée s'il se joint à lui. Darren s'est installé avec la troupe et devra se préparer à l'affrontement.
