The Embezzler is a 1954 British crime film directed by John Gilling and starring Charles Victor, Zena Marshall and Cyril Chamberlain. Its plot concerns a bank cashier who steals from the bank where he is employed.

Synopsis

A quiet, respectable bank cashier learns he has only a few years left to live, and decides to embezzle money from the bank where he works, and enjoy the rest of his days in South America. But on being caught, the embezzler flees the scene assisted by a Mrs Forrest who has problems of her own as she is being blackmailed by a former lover. When the bank clerk saves her, he gets himself killed.

Junk dealer Roselli's dreams for his son Julius are disappointed when the young man is thrown out of Oxford after poor grades. The boy then gets involved with a gang of Camden Town jewel thieves for whom his father is secretly the fence, and when they attempt to rob a warehouse, Julius is injured in the getaway but continues his involvement.
