Surya IPS is a 1991 Telugu Action - Drama film directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy and produced by T. Subbarami Reddy on Maheswari Parameswari Productions. Starring Venkatesh and Vijayshanti played the lead roles and music composed by Ilayaraja. The film was Average at the box office.

Synopsis

Surya (Venkatesh) lives like easy going guy with his grandfather (Satyanayana) force he joins to police selections. Sirisha (Vijayashanti) Surya's college met also joins the police selections both of them goes to police training after various quarrels between them and misbehavior of Surya his grandfather tells him the truth that what happen to his family at his childhood, his father Jagadeswara Rao (Charanraj) killed his mother to marry CM Eekambraswara Rao's (Gokkina Rama Rao) Sister and put the blame of his father. After knowing the reason, he turns out to take revenge completes his training and becomes Police Officer. Meanwhile Rajeswara Rao (Charu Hassan) Sirisha's father stands in elections against C.M. That's why Jadeswara Rao Kills Rajeswara Rao & his entire family and case is handed over to Surya, but Jadeswara Rao & CM's tactics makes Surya to jail which forms the rest of story.

Ravi (Chiranjeevi) is the son of a sincere Police officer (Satyanarayana). Ravi accidentally hurts his neighbour's eyes and become responsible for his blindness. Fearing that his father would scold him, he runs away from home and is brought up by a don in Calcutta, who names him Kalidas. The don dies in an encounter and Kali is asked to leave the world of crime and become a good citizen. Kalidas changes his name to Raja and while traveling in a train saves his father, later realising their relationship. Because of his criminal background he does not reveal that he is his son. Satyanarayana takes him to his house and introduces Raja to his family members. His father is to face the local goons headed by Rao Gopala Rao. In the mean time he meets Radha and came to realise that she is the daughter of the person who became blind because of him. Raja helps her in having her father's eyesight returned and wins her heart.
