The film features Ajay Devgan, Juhi Chawla, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles and released on 13 November 2012. Salman Khan appears in a cameo role.
It is a remake of 2010 Telugu film Maryada Ramanna directed by S. S. Rajamouli starring Sunil and Saloni Aswani in lead roles which was based out of the Hollywood movie Our Hospitality released in 1923 and was first adapted in a Kannada film Balagalittu Olage Baa released in 2002 directed by Dinesh Baboo starring S. Narayan. Although competing with the Yash Raj film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Son of Sardaar managed to do good business at the box office worldwide. Box Office India declared it a Hit in India and an average grosser in the overseas markets. It went on to gross ₹1.5 billion (US$23 million) worldwide.
Synopsis
The story revolves around two families, whose patriarch killed each other many years ago. Their respective sons, Jaswinder Randhawa and Balwinder Singh, are sworn enemies. Jaswinder has been in hiding in London, whereas Balwinder is waiting for his return in Punjab so he can avenge the death of his father.Acteurs

Chastised by their son, Aayush's Hindi school-teacher for not conversing in one of the national languages, as well as ignoring the relevance of the word 'Atithi', Mumbai-based Bollywood writer, Puneet (Ajay Devgn), and his wife, Munmun (Konkona Sen Sharma), go out of their way to welcome an hitherto unknown paternal uncle, Lambodar (Paresh Rawal), from Gorakhpur. Vishi (Ajay Devgn) is a small-time crook who would do anything for money. He falls in love with Khushi (Sonakshi Sinha), a simple HR executive, who then begins a relationship with him. One day, Vishi, who frequently gets involved in fights, publicly beats up a street gangster, who later seeks a revenge attack with his gang. The gangster and his gang brutally beat up Vishi, and easily escape the scene. It is then revealed that the person they had beaten is actually Vishi's lookalike, Jai. The goons escape when they hear the siren, and Vishi is found alive on bike, then the same goons gets beaten brutally by Vishi. Khushi tries to explain to Vishi that she loves him, he understands and they both started falling in love. On another occasion, a police inspector arrests Jai and hands him over to a group of gangsters led by Pedro (Ketan Karande). Jai single-handedly kills them all and is revealed to be a professional assassin and previous right-hand man of underworld criminal Xavier Fonseca (Anandaraj), nicknamed AJ. After AJ single-handedly rescued Xavier's sister Marina (Manasvi Mamgai) from a bunch of kidnappers, Marina falls for Jai but he rejects her as he is been married to Anusha (Yami Gautam).

The film opens with Munna Bhai (Sanjay Dutt), a dreaded Mumbai-streeted goon, on the chase to Pillai (Ashish Vidyarthi). Munna Bhai catches him, and Pillai tries to escape into Komal's (Aishwarya Rai) dancing class. Komal stops Munna from beating him up and makes him say sorry to Pillai. Munna straight-away falls in love with her without realizing that he is in love. Noticing that Munna Bhai seems to be ill, his sidekick takes him to Dr. Rastogi (Amitabh Bachchan), whose diagnosis is that Munna Bhai is suffering from the "love virus" which can only be cured with love. He advises Munna Bhai to try to woo the girl with whom he is smitten. What Dr. Rastogi and Munna Bhai do not realize is that this girl is none other than the doctor's younger sister. Rastogi takes Komal abroad to get her married, unaware she is in love with Raja (Ajay Devgan). Raja, in disguise fools Rastogi, and follows them abroad. Munna Bhai is then on gun-point by Pillai, and Raja saves him. Unaware of knowing they both love the same girl, Rastogi makes a torn between them, which ends up getting Raja beat up. Munna Bhai gets his gun out, but before Rastogi realizes what he has done, Komal jumps in to save Raja and is shot. Munna Bhai realizing his mistake, surrenders, and gives up the crime world, while Dr. Rastogi also realizes his mistake and lets Komal marry Raja.

Siddhant Rai (Rishi Kapoor) est un riche et brillant architecte qui vit dans une immense demeure avec ses trois enfants : Rohit (Master Harsh Lunia), Rahul (Master Kingshuk Vaidya) et Rani (Baby Sakshi Sem). Ils suivent Anna jusque chez les Rai où elle obtient le poste. Mais, les trois enfants lui jouent un cruel tour en lui envoyant une lettre lui annonçant le décès de ses parents. Anna est bouleversée et elle décide de partir mais les enfants réalisent leur erreur, lui présentent leurs excuses et Anna reste avec eux. Quant à Shekhar, il ne cesse de déclarer sa flamme à Anna, lui dit qu’elle ressemble trait pour trait à son ancienne compagne décédée et lui confesse qu'il en est fou de chagrin. Anna, attendrie, lui avoue son amour et tous deux se marient. Mais le jour de leur union, Shekhar est arrêté par la police pour braquage de banque et vol des alliances dans une bijouterie ! Il est également accusé de vouloir voler la fortune de Siddhant. Anna, le cœur brisé, retourne à l’orphelinat où elle a grandi sans en informer les Rai qui partent à sa recherche mais ils ont un accident de voiture. Les trois enfants en réchappent mais leur père périt. C’est alors que trois oncles malveillants héritent de sa fortune, s’installent au palais et maltraitent les enfants. Mais un jour, un homme se présente prétendant être Raju Chacha, le plus jeune frère de Siddhant qui avait quitté la maison à 11 ans.
