Seven Keys to Baldpate is a 1916 Australian silent film directed by Monte Luke for J.C. Williamson Ld. It was the first film adaptation of the popular play by George M. Cohan which had toured Australia successfully in 1914 with Fred Niblo. There were later versions of the story in 1917, 1925, 1929, 1935 and 1947.

Three reels of the film survive today.

Synopsis

A novelist makes a bet he can complete a book within 24 hours. He goes to write it at a mountain resort which he thinks is deserted but is disturbed by a series of visitors.

De son côté, Marcel demande le divorce. Plus tard, Eve et Lamar passent leur lune de miel sur la Côte d'Azur, Lamar étant l'invité d'une conférence internationale. Annie rencontre Marcel, qui est lui aussi sur la Côte d'Azur, et ils dînent ensemble. Lorsque Lamar quitte Eve et revient à Paris, il trouve sa clinique en plein chaos du fait de l'absence d'Annie. Pour la première fois, il dit à une cliente de retourner à son mari comme elle est. Eve se marie finalement avec Rolando, un homme amoureux de son apparence. Annie démissionne en disant à Lamar qu'elle va épouser Marcel. Lamar poursuit la voiture du couple et cause un accident. Lorsqu'Annie se rend compte que Marcel porte une perruque, elle avoue son amour à Lamar et ils s'embrassent.

The girl's mother (Ashton) learns of the trick being played by Jack. Just when Jack is exposed as being a fraud, it turns out that he is the genuine article. The girl's mother then gladly announces her daughter's engagement to Jack.
