Puthiya Aatchi (English: New reign) is a 1995 Tamil drama film directed by Velu Prabhakaran. The film features Anandaraj, Raadhika Sarathkumar and Sarath Babu in lead roles. The film songs was composed by Premi - Sreeni, the film score was composed by Shyam and was released on 3 March 1995.

Synopsis

Marappan (Anandaraj) is the rebel leader of 'Puratchi Padai'. The rebel group only kills corrupted politicians who spoil the poor's lives. Whereas a corrupted politician Valluvadasan (Radha Ravi) misuses their name and he perpetrates murders of innocent people under their name.

The film begins with the murder of a politician committed by the terrorist Azhagam Perumal (Anandaraj). So Azhagam Perumal first sets off a bomb in a head office of Ponnurangam's opposite party. 22 people died during the bomb blast. The film starts begins with a politician's murder by a henchman of the local don Boopathy (Charan Raj). The police commissioner Ganesh (Sarath Babu) appoints the Scotland Yard trainee Vijay (R. Sarathkumar) to arrest Boopathy. Vijay finally infiltrates Boopathy's gang under the name Ranjith Kumar as an ex-jailbird. Vijay later arranges kidnap of Boopathy's sister Usha and he rescues her (Kushboo). Vijay slowly becomes Boopathy's right hand. In the meantime, Vijay and Usha fall in love with each other. Vijaysanthi slowly falls for Sarat Babu seeing his wealth and neglects Sobhan Babu. She even gets engaged to Sarat Babu. At this time, Radhika enters his life. Due to circumstances, Sobhan Babu joins hands with Rao Gopalrao and becomes rich. Rajinikanth comes at this time and helps his brother to leave the bad people and everything ends well with Vijayasanthi losing her life in the course.
