Synopsis
Dr. Carl Forrester, a curmudgeonly but basically kindly Nobel Prize-winning scientist, who builds an equally kindly (but much handsomer) humanoid named Michael. The government-subsidized Plummer has created Michael on behalf of his sponsors, but has second thoughts when he finds out that the government plans to build an army of robot warriors, using Michael as their model. Plummer sneaks into the pentagon and "kidnaps" Michael, triggering a film-length chase.Acteurs

En 2035, la surface de la Terre est devenue invivable pour l'humanité. Un virus mortel d'origine inconnue a tué 5 milliards d'humains en 1996 et a contraint les survivants — 1 % de la population mondiale — à vivre sous terre pour éviter leur contamination. Pour tenter de trouver un remède au virus, des scientifiques utilisent des prisonniers et les envoient dans le passé recueillir des informations sur la forme non mutée du virus. L'un d'eux, James Cole (Bruce Willis), considéré comme asocial, est choisi pour une expérience ayant pour but de l'amener en 1996. Il doit y recueillir des informations au sujet de ce virus, que les scientifiques pensent avoir été libéré par une organisation terroriste de défense des animaux, connue sous le nom d'« Armée des douze singes ». Peter Strange (York) is an idealistic young police recruit who gets mixed up with a tough and jaded Scotland Yard detective (Kemp). The structure of the musical is, in large part, retained: a series of parables from the gospel of Matthew, interspersed with musical numbers. Many of the scenes take advantage of well-known sites around an empty, still New York City. John the Baptist gathers a diverse band of youthful disciples to follow and learn from the teachings of Jesus.
