Poongsan, whose real name is never revealed, is a mysterious messenger who crosses the demarcation line between the two Koreas, delivering letters and cherished heirlooms between separated families in Seoul and Pyongyang.
One day he is commissioned by South Korean government agents with the task of smuggling in In-ok, the beautiful lover of a high-ranking North Korean defector, into the South. Yet things take an unexpected turn when the deliveryman falls for the young woman, but their romance is put in jeopardy by the obstacles they encounter.
Part love story, part postwar tragedy, with a dose of comedy thrown in, the low-budget film Poongsan depicts the sad reality of the division between the two Koreas.
Synopsis
Au risque de se faire abattre, Poongsan traverse régulièrement la frontière qui sépare les deux Corées afin de réunir des familles séparées. Un jour, répondant à une commande secrète du gouvernement sud-coréen, il passe au Nord pour ramener In-oak, la maîtresse d’un transfuge de la haute société. En route, alors qu’ils frôlent la mort à plusieurs reprises, ils tombent amoureux. Mais, à leur arrivée, l’amant d’In-oak se montre jaloux et livre Poongsan à des agents du gouvernement. Torturé, il se voir offrir l’opportunité de partir à l’étranger avec In-oak, à la condition de sauver un autre agent sud-coréen infiltré en Corée du Nord. Poongsan accepte et repart pour la Corée du Nord…Acteurs

Shortly after graduating from high school, Yoon-mi begins looking for a job in order to earn money to help support her struggling family; she especially wants to pay for her younger brother Yoon-seok's tuition when he goes to college in the next few years. Her father Sang-gu, a taxi driver in Gangwon Province, is proud and overjoyed when Yoon-mi gets hired as a factory worker at the Jinsung semiconductor factory. He makes a visit to a labor attorney to file a claim against the most powerful conglomerate in the country. Sang-gu and his family, along with their attorney and other families of leukemia patients, are soon shaken up as the company uses different methods of appeasement and pressure to keep the families from uniting, among them offering money to keep the issue from becoming public. Jinsung workers also spy on the families of the plaintiffs, stalk them and threaten them, all for the sake of their company, which they genuinely believe to be in the right. People become reluctant to be a witness for trial, either because of their loyalty to the company or for the well being of their families. But Sang-gu is determined to continue in his quest for truth and justice.
