The film comprises four shorts namely Honeymoon, I Love My Appa, Marichavarude Kadal and Amma which all are half an hour long each. The four featurettes are directed by Rajesh Amanakkara, Mathews, Priyanandanan and Major Ravi respectively. Major Ravi coordinated the efforts for the film.
Another featurette titled Sarvashiksha Abhiyan directed by Vinod Vijayan was originally announced but was not included in the final print.

EMS, the leader of the first ever democratically elected Communist Government is dead (His death was on the same day, which the BJP lead Government came to power in the centre. This coincidence strengthened the mystic cloud around the man called EMS among his friends). Appa Mestry (Murali), a veteran Communist, who lives in the nostalgia of 'those great days', is unable to believe that EMS has died. For him EMS is a great leader, whose death is unthinkable. He goes back to those ages, where they worked for freedom struggle, risking their own lives. He proudly remembers the day which he took Comrade P. Krishnapilla on his shoulder across the river safely. He remembers contemptuously the day which the first EMS ministry was dismissed by the Central Government as a result of the unjust agitation by the religious lobbies of Kerala. He even had observed fast when AKG had gone on fast against a Government decision.

Major Mahadevan (Mohanlal) is an officer deputed to the National Security Guards (NSG). He has been assigned to counter-terrorism duties in Kashmir and commands an elite group of NSG commandos. He calls back his buddy Havildar Jaikumar (Jiiva) from his honeymoon because he has information about major activities of the militants; he feels Jaikumar is needed for the team. The commandos raid a mosque in civilian dress and seize a big collection of arms and explosives. Later, during an operation focused on some cottages near the Dal Lake, a commando in the team is killed and an outraged Jaikumar shoots down a captured terrorist who challenges the commandos. A human rights activist (Shwetha Menon) learns about this and threatens to file a complaint with the government. She later understands the situation and the sincerity of the commandos and decides not to proceed with the complaint.

Kari Gurukkal, also known as Pulimaranja Thondachan (the great grandfather who turned into tiger), is a folk god of Pulayas, a subaltern community in North Kerala. According to legends, Kari was a master of martial arts and other arts. Envious, the upper caste people ordered him to bring tiger mane and tail to cure the madness of the ruler. For this, he had to take the tiger form and go to the forest. To get his human form back when he returns from the forest, his wife should pour water used for cleaning rice and beat him with broom. But when he returns from the forest, his wife got terrified by his form and fails to do what she was told to do. Unable to take human form, Kari goes back to the forest.

Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on 21 May 1991 in Sri Perumbatur, near the then Madras. Madhavan Menon (Maddy) is a ruthless investigating officer working with the Mumbai Police. He is an encounter specialist who makes decisions on the spot, without always waiting for orders from the top. His latest assignment is to investigate the missing of a teenage school girl from Mumbai. He reaches Kerala on being tipped off that the girl could be taken to Kerala. Following the leads, Maddy comes to the conclusion that all the girls have been abducted by a Kerala-based sex trafficking racket headed by a psycho criminal named Khais Khanna. Maddy embarks on a mission to eliminate the racket and save the girls, including his daughter who gets kidnapped, Diya.
