Ojai Bums is a mockumentary short film written and directed by Devin Oatway and starring Matthew Carey, Ben Buschel and Greg Berg. It was shot on an ultra-low budget in Ojai, CA in 2009.
Synopsis
When Alan, a successful writer for television, moves his family to Ojai, he realizes that his neighbors are not the stereotypical posh East End residents. In fact, they are the opposite. Prone to accidental violence and marijuana use, the "Bums" have decided to make a documentary about their lives. Alan watches from the sidelines until fate makes him an integral part of the story.Acteurs

Harold (Matthew Carey) is a down-on-his-luck documentary filmmaker that has been given the opportunity to shadow his former college friends, ghost hunters for the popular television show named S.P.I.T.. Intending to use any footage he shoots as a documentary, Harold is disappointed when Tim (Matt Doherty) reveals that a good chunk of the evidence collected during each investigation was planted there by their props director Bill (Lance Henriksen). In fact, everything that is seen in their show is the result of very careful planning and editing designed to get the maximum amount of entertainment per episode. However this time the group is going to investigate Hollows Grove, an abandoned orphanage where several atrocities were committed against their residents and two nurses committed suicide. Initially the group approaches the grounds with the idea that there will be no true threat to their beings, only to discover that Hollows Grove is very haunted and that their lives are very much in danger.
