Its story was conceived by lyricist Gireesh Puthenchery and the screenplay was written by Raghunath Paleri. The film was directed by Rajasenan, produced by Mani C. Kappan in the banner of Okay Productions and distributed by Okay Release. It was one of the highest grossing Malayalam films of the early 1990s. It made the list of "14 Greatest Malayalam Movies Ever" as compiled by Manorama News.
The title comes from the fact that all three sons, Jayakrishnan (Jagathy Sreekumar), Gopikrishnan (Vijayaraghavan), and Harikrishnan (Jayaram), of Thrivikraman Pillai (Narendra Prasad) and Bhanumathi Meena of the Meleparambil family are bachelors. Along with that includes Kannappan (Janardanan), Bhanumathi's brother who is also a bachelor.
Synopsis
Harikrishan (Jayaram) is the youngest son of Thrivikram Muthallali. His brothers Jayakrishnan and Gopikrishan are not as handsome as him. He wants to earn a good living and so sets forth to a Tamil village as manager of a courier company. Hari sees a young Tamil woman named Pavizham who is being forced by her father to get married against her will. The two fall in love and elope.Acteurs

Mahadevan (Jayaram) and Kumaran (Janardhanan) work in a small firm and are room mates renting from Janakiamma (Meena). One day, luck comes to them when Mahadevan wins a car as the first prize of a promotional contest held by a washing-powder brand. Meanwhile, a murderer, Ambrose (Abu Salim) is after Maya. By mistake, both the murderer and Mahadevan get the same tag number on their cars' license plates. The murderers try a hit-and-run attack on Maya, but she escapes. She thinks that Mahadevan who did it. Mahadevan gets arrested by sub-inspector Cherian (Kalabhavan Mani) according to Maya's complaint. But due to lack of proper evidence, he's released with a warning. After getting through problems one after another, Mahadevan finds the real killers and their car. He tells Maya about the killers who attempted for her life. Shockingly it is revealed that one of the killers is Maya's Vishnu who is after her wealth. Vishnu tries to kill Maya, but Mahadevan stops him. In an attempt to kill Mahadevan and Maya, Vishnu dies by falling on a sharp object. In an attempt to dump his body, the couple is stopped by Vishnu's accomplice, Ambrose. He's enraged by his friend's death and tries to kill Mahadevan and Maya. But ends up at the dead end of the road, where the cops were waiting for him with an armed force. The car catches fire from the gunshots and explodes, killing him. The film ends with sub-inspector Cherian thanking Mahadevan and Maya, for their help and support.

The film tells the story of a rich orphan - Apputtan, a generous and liberal man. He helps settle the financial woes of people in the village. He is attracted to a girl whose education he has been sponsoring. But her response to his love after becoming a doctor at his expense, was something Apputtan had least expected. Appu (Jayaram) and Maya (Manju Warrier) were childhood sweethearts, and their parents had agreed to their marriage. Appu is treated by Maya's father as his own son and this makes her uncle jealous of him. Maya's mother belongs a branch of local royal family. Subhash Chandra Bose aka Kochu Kurup heard a phone call by a teenage girl named Padmaja 'Pappi' Warrier and soon falls in love with her. But his parents send him to Bangalore to his best friend Kartik aka Aniyankutty (Dileep), who is a rich womanizer.
