Synopsis
Comme tous les trois ans, Vénus envoie son fils Cupidon, âgé de 5000 ans - mais qui ne les paraît pas -, décocher ses flèches pour changer le destin d'un être bon, généreux et esseulé. Sa cible est cette fois-ci Emily Vale, une jeune dentiste, également bénévole d'une institution religieuse. La belle a le cœur brisé depuis que son ami l'a quittée. Mais Cupidon, qui a pris l'apparence d'un jeune homme, manque son tir. La flèche se retourne contre lui et il tombe amoureux d'Emily. Sa mission doit être accomplie avant le lever du soleil.Acteurs

The story follows John Belushi, shortly after his death from a drug overdose in March 1982, as he awakens in a morgue and is about to undergo an autopsy. Panicked, Belushi escapes and finds himself in the company of the enigmatic Angel Velasquez (Ray Sharkey), a Puerto Rican cabbie who takes Belushi to significant moments in his life from the beginning of his career to the courtship of his wife, Judith (Lucinda Jenney), into his burgeoning comedy career, his friendship with Dan Aykroyd (Gary Groomes) and his eventual decline. The film alternates between Belushi as a ghost and his journey with Velasquez to flashbacks (in non-linear style) as his career gains momentum. Meanwhile, journalist Bob Woodward (J. T. Walsh) is researching Belushi's life as he prepares to write a book about the late comic actor. Woodward's investigation leads him to Cathy Smith (Patti D'Arbanville), who procured drugs for Belushi, and the story climaxes with Woodward directly conversing with Belushi during the actor's dying moments.

Neil Klugman, jeune libertaire issu de la classe ouvrière, est d’une grande intelligence, mais ne fait aucun projet en opposition à l’establishment. Vétéran de l’armée, diplômé de l’Université Rutgers, il gagne sa vie comme employé à la bibliothèque municipale de Columbus (Ohio). Il tombe amoureux de Brenda Patimkin, une riche étudiante du Radcliffe College en vacances pour l’été. Brenda l’invite à passer quelques jours dans la résidence familiale pour le présenter à ses parents qui s’inquiètent de leur différence de classe sociale. Mais plusieurs obstacles viennent entraver la relation amoureuse des jeunes gens, car Neil n’est pas prêt à renoncer à sa liberté. Tout d’abord parce qu'il comprend qu’il devrait sacrifier son indépendance en travaillant dans l’entreprise familiale pour avoir un avenir conforme à celui que le père Patimkin ambitionne pour un gendre en puissance, à l’instar de Ron, le frère de Brendra, qui a dû abandonner ses rêves d'athlète de l'Université d'État de l'Ohio pour travailler avec son père. Un autre problème se présente quand Neil découvre que Brenda ne prend jamais la pilule, risquant de tomber enceinte et le contraignant au mariage. Suivant les injonctions de Neil, Brenda utilise alors un diaphragme, mais quand sa mère s’en aperçoit, elle somme sa fille de mettre fin à sa relation avec Neil. La soumission de Brenda aux exigences familiales provoque la rupture immédiate du couple.
