Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Sonu Walia, Anupam Kher and Mala Sinha form its main cast. Khel is one of the almost dozen films that Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit have done together.
The film's plot is similar to Hollywood films Bedtime Story and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
Synopsis
A rich widow Sulakshana Devi (Mala Sinha) lives with her son Ravi (Vijayendra Ghatge) and care-taker Balwant (Prem Chopra). One day, she receives the news that her son has died in a car accident. Meanwhile, a lady named Kamini approaches her and informs her that she is carrying her dead son Ravi's child. Sulakshana does not believe Kamini and turns her away. Sulakshana later learns from Ravi's friend Sanjay Gupta (Vivek Vaswani) that Kamini is indeed the mother of Ravi's child. Sulakshana tries her best to look for Kamini and get her home, but to no avail.Acteurs

Sanjay est un grand physicien qui étudie l'existence des extraterrestres. Sur le point de faire une découverte capitale, il est victime, avec son épouse enceinte, d'un accident de voiture au cours duquel il décède. Dans une remise, il retrouve le matériel informatique de son père : branché, l'appareil le met en contact avec une vie extra-terrestre qui dépêche sur Terre un vaisseau spatial. Reparti précipitamment, l'engin abandonne dans la forêt l'un des leurs : Rohit le recueille et devient son ami.

Aarti Verma (Rekha) is a widow with two children. She is an unattractive woman with a large birthmark on her face. Aarti's husband died in a car accident under mysterious circumstances, and her father (Saeed Jaffrey) is one of the richest and most famous businessmen in the city. However, when Aarti's father is murdered by his worker Hiralal (Kader Khan), Aarti's world is completely destroyed. She does not find any sense for her life, except bringing up her children. Hiralal pretends to be a friend, and takes care of her like a father. He brings his poor nephew Sanjay (Kabir Bedi) from abroad, who is also the lover of Aarti's best friend Nandini (Sonu Walia). Although Nandini loves Aarti, she is intensely in love with Sanjay, and after he requests her to help him, she finally agrees to help him rob Aarti of her wealth.

Raja Saheb (Amrish Puri) est un homme puissant, propriétaire d'une mine où travaillent de nombreuses personnes qu'il traite avec une extrême brutalité. Il est entouré de collaborateurs dociles parmi lesquels Shankar (Shahrukh Khan), un jeune homme muet et naïf, lui voue une dévotion sans borne. Séduit par Gauri (Madhuri Dixit), belle et modeste orpheline, Raja Saheb décide de l'épouser mais, craignant que son âge et son peu de charme ne rebute cette jeune femme à l'esprit indépendant, il fait faire sa demande en mariage en lui remettant pour sienne la photo de Shankar. Immédiatement attirée par ce visage au regard innocent, Gauri accepte la proposition, cependant au cours de la cérémonie elle réalise qu'elle a été dupée mais il est trop tard. Elle tente de se suicider après s'être refusée à Raja Saheb qui veut faire valoir ses « droits d'époux ». De son côté, Shankar prend progressivement conscience de l'inhumanité de son protecteur et des violences qu'il fait subir à la jeune femme qu'il a involontairement contribué à piéger et pour laquelle il se prend d'affection.

Wealthy Rajiv Sinha and middle class Amar Saxena are childhood friends with similar likes. Coincidentally they fall in love with the same girl Seema. Durgeshwari Devi (Hema Malini) is a very rich and proud lady. She stays in her palace-like home with her two sons Dheeraj and Neeraj, her daughter Rekha (Madhuri Dixit), her brother, nicknamed DDT (Anupam Kher), and his close friend, nicknamed BBC (Satish Kaushik) along with her personal secretary, Shakti. Rekha studies in a medical college in Bombay. Durgeshwari Devi has full control over her home and company and is feared by all. Her ambitions of wedding Rekha in a rich family like hers seem to fail when Rekha falls in love with Raja (Anil Kapoor). Raja is an unemployed, poor but smart and educated man. Durgeshwari seeing him to be a smart fellow puts a condition for agreeing to the marriage which would humiliate him and thus back out. She asks Raja to live with them after the marriage and not other way round where the bride goes to live at groom's home.
