Synopsis
Early summer 1996. Levante Quarini (Leonardo Pieraccioni) is a young accountant of Tuscany who lives his unhappy relationship with women. He lives with his father Osvaldo (Sergio Forconi), his brother Libero (Massimo Ceccherini) and his lesbian sister Selvaggia (Barbara Enrichi) on a lonely residence surrounded by corn fields.Acteurs

Leopoldo (Leonardo Pieraccioni) is a separate teacher and comes to know his father's death. Once arrived at the morgue, however, the parent wakes up and says he just wants to pretend to be dead to escape from their creditors. The father escapes abroad and leaves to his son a videotape, from which emerges that Leopoldo has a secret brother who was born 35 years earlier by an extramarital affair with a janitor: Melchiorre called "Gimondi" (Massimo Ceccherini) who is serving several years in prison. The two brothers meet to sell his father's inheritance, and embark on a long car trip from Palermo to Saint Vincent.

Arturo est un menuisier qui a écrit des histoires depuis son enfance. L'un d'eux est publié par une importante maison d'édition et obtient un grand succès. Plus tard, lors d'un de ses voyages pour promouvoir le livre, il rencontre Matilde: les deux tombent amoureux l'un de l'autre, mais après avoir passé la nuit ensemble, ils partent quinze mois.Arturo est construit dans une prairie de sa maison idéale avec toit rouge et le feu bleu, après s'être échappé de la vie trépidante d'un écrivain à succès, alors que Matilde donne naissance à un enfant. À ce stade, les deux se revoient, Matilde se réfère à Arturo qui est sur le point de se marier mais qui n'est pas sûr de l'identité du père légitime de l'enfant. Finalement, les deux se rapprocheront et iront vivre ensemble dans la maison au toit rouge et la cheminée bleue.
