Synopsis
A teenage boy befriends a well known B class actress Rachelle (Dina Bonnevie) who is having an affair with a Mayor Edmundo Guatlo (Eddie Garcia) whose wife Rowena (Charo Santos-Concio) wants to get rid of her in order to not snag controversy during the elections but in only two clauses she will disappear if he releases her lover out of prison (Christopher De Leon) and kill his rival opponent in the elections. Brocka's Gumapang Ka sa Lusak shows the evils of society, corruption and epidenious world of glitz, and disaster in the world of the ruling influential, society of politics and the message of life trying to make a living from the dirt and gravel of society we all struggle to live in.Acteurs

En 1985, dans la ville de Dolores, les Insoumis, un groupe occulte dirigé par Kumander Kontra, tue un prêtre étranger qui enterrait un rebelle, également assassiné par ce même groupe. En 1986, la dictature s'effondre aux Philippines. Tous les prisonniers sont alors libérés. Parmi eux Jimmy, un ancien prêtre devenu révolutionnaire. Peu de temps après il épouse Trixie, une militante des Droits de l’homme. Jimmy se rallie à sa cause. Il décide alors d'aller à Dolores, enquêter sur les crimes commis par les Insoumis. The story begins with a flashback to the past of a woman called Kuala (Lolita Rodriguez). An herbolario (traditional/folk medicine practitioner) performs an abortion on Kuala, as Cesar (Eddie Garcia) watches her. The abortion was a success, but when Kuala sees the aborted fetus, she becomes disturbed. Everyone notices how different Andrew (Ricky Davao) and Gillian (Lorna Tolentino) look from their respective sets of parents but no one really makes a fuss about it. What is even more surprising is that the two have never felt close with the families growing up. Instead, Gillian becomes more closely attached to Andrew's parents (Ricky Belmonte and Marita Zobel) while Andrew feels more drawn to Gillian's parents, Bernardo (Dante Rivero) and Patria (Gina Pareño). Little do they suspect that this is because Andrew and Gillian had been switched at birth. Andrew's real father, Bernardo, a poor private driver, decides that Andrew will have a better life growing up with his rich bosses. So he makes sure that only he and his wife Patria know that he has switched the two babies when the mothers both gave birth at a provincial hospital. No amount of pleading from Patria can make him change his mind. Out of frustration, Patria resorts to maltreating Gillian. The latter finds comfort with Andrew's mother, Rose (Marita Zobel), and later with Mark, (Gary Valenciano) a rich suitor. Jealous of Gillian's new found attention, Andrew decides to force himself on Gillian, an act which leads to the revelation of the secret of their parentage.
