The studio was attempting to build on the popularity of Grace Moore, another opera singer, who had also expanded her talents into movies.
Synopsis
After being introduced to the world of opera, a fisherman (Jan Kiepura) falls for a woman (Swarthout) whose guardian is a noted composer (Philip Merivale). They met when the fisherman evaded the police by seeking refuge in the village church. While there, they are each captivated by hearing the other singing Mass. The beautiful woman falls in love with the fisherman with the wonderful voice.Acteurs

Opera singer superstar Renato Rossano (Mario Lanza) is drafted into the U.S. Army. His Sergeant, "Bat" Batterson (James Whitmore) is an opera fan who admires Rossano and wishes Rossano to appraise his sister's (Doretta Morrow) singing voice. The rest of his platoon as well as the company commander disapproves of Batterson's showing favourtism to Rossano by excusing him from normal training. Rossano also schemes to have Master Sgt Batterson allow him to go to New York supposedly to have his manager appraise Batterson's sister, Brigit's singing voice but in reality allowing him to do a performance.

Sally Trent has an illegitimate child, but cannot support her and gives the baby up for adoption. The father, Michael Gardner, leaves for China not knowing about the baby, and she assumes he has abandoned her for life. Enrico Ferraro est un chanteur d'opéra célèbre. Mais la vie de star n’a pas que de beaux côtés. Son manager le conduit de concert en concert et Ferraro aspire à avoir du temps libre. Il fuit le stress dans le sud. Au cours de son voyage, il rencontre Koretzky, qui lui ressemble étrangement. Ferraro voit la possibilité de prendre ses temps morts nécessaires de la scène de l'opéra et des concerts avec l'aide de Koretzky. Koretzky gagne sa vie en tant qu’escroc au mariage et Ferraro pourrait l’aider à faire la cour à la belle Mathilde. Cependant, la confusion règne et Ferraro va en prison. Seule sa voix peut prouver son innocence et Koretzky arrive finalement derrière les barreaux tandis que Ferraro et Mathilde tombent amoureux.

Arriving in Venice for a production of "Aida", young tenor Ricardo Gatti meets the attractive Mary, who has sneaked into the opera house in an attempt to get her fiance hired as a pianist. Ricardo invites Mary to tea and she tells her story, describing her fiance as her "brother". Captivated by her, the tenor uses his influence to obtain the job with the orchestra. However, filled with guilt at her deception, Mary breaks off her engagement and consents instead to marry her parents' choice, a wealthy society man. But just before the wedding, she changes her mind and marries Ricardo instead.
