Ajouter à une liste de filmsGang War (released as All Square in the UK) is a 1928 part-talking gangster film, best known for being the main feature attached to Steamboat Willie, the debut of Mickey Mouse in sound. The film starred Jack Pickford in his last major role, as "Clyde", a saxophone player whose love for a dancer named Flowers (Olive Borden) traps him in the middle of a gang war. The film was released with talking sequences, as well as a musical score and sound effects for the silent sections. But despite the synchronised sound as well as the all-star cast, the film is largely unknown in its own right and is now a lost film, being overshadowed by its far more famous preceding short.
Synopsis
The film follows the saxophone player Clyde, who busks on the San Francisco Bay waterfront. One night, he meets Flowers, and teaches her to dance, but finds that "Blackjack" (Eddie Gribbon), the leader of a ruthless gang, is also in love with her. Despite the intense turf war between "Blackjack" and a rival gangster named Mike Luego (Walter Long), "Blackjack" wins the heart of Flowers and marries her, but without consummating the marriage. Clyde is eventually able to win "Blackjack" over however, and "Blackjack" sacrifices himself to protect Clyde and Flowers from Luego. Gang War was produced in black and white on Academy ratio 35 mm film, and was originally to be a silent film. However, a spoken prologue was added, in which a group of reporters (including one played by Mabel Albertson) discuss the events that are to come.Acteurs

Don (Shahrukh Khan) est le chef d'un gang international réputé insaisissable basé à Kuala Lumpur. Dans sa traque, la police malaisienne est aidée par des collègues indiens et tout particulièrement par l'officier de police D'Silva. Il se rappelle avoir rencontré lors d'une autre affaire un chanteur des rues qui ressemblait beaucoup à Don, Vijay. Il retrouve Vijay qui élève Dipu, un enfant qu'il a recueilli. Il propose à Vijay de prendre la place de Don, en échange, il placera le jeune garçon dans la meilleure école de Kuala Lumpur. Vijay accepte, et D'Silva organise son "retour" à la place de Don. Vijay prétendra avoir perdu la mémoire pour se faire accepter de l'entourage de Don sans éveiller les soupçons.

Lorsque l'inspecteur de police à la retraite Fan Chi-hung (Alex Man ) apprend que le fils de son ancien supérieur Brown (Roger Ball) s'est fait enlevé, il revient des États-Unis à Hong Kong pour apporter son aide. Avec le fils adoptif de Brown, Kit (Andy Lau), ils enquêtent et réussissent à sauver l'enfant, ce dont Brown est reconnaissant. Fan profite également de l'occasion pour voir son ex-fiancée, Shirley (Kelly Yiu ). Kit connaît également Shirley et tombe amoureux de sa fille Cindy (Regina Kent ). Cependant, il est révélé que Brown a en réalité investi une énorme somme d'argent provenant d'une société japonaise, ce qui a conduit le yakuza Hoshida (Michael Chan ) à venir à Hong Kong pour découvrir la vérité. Hoshida, qui s'appelait à l'origine Pu, est l'ex-mari de Shirley à l'époque où celui-ci était membre de la triade. Lorsque Brown apprend l'existence de cette relation, il dit à Fan de quitter Hong Kong et de le laisser négocier au Japon. Mais soudainement, Brown trahit Fan, et le yakuza essaie de tuer Kit et Fan puis, plus tard, tue Kit et Cindy. Fan apprend alors la relation entre Hoshida et Shirley et décide de se battre à mort avec les yakuzas.

The film is narrated by Frankie (Dyer), a young everyman living in South East London during the Thatcher era of the 1980s, with little hope of ever making anything of himself, yet he dreams of "being somebody" and escaping his lonely, dreary lifestyle. After seriously assaulting his mother's abusive boyfriend, he becomes a fugitive, and through family connections escapes to Spain's Costa Del Sol. Impressed by Frankie's honesty in not opening the bag, Charlie takes a liking to Frankie, introduces him to his business associates, including the psychopathic Sammy (Bell), and invites him to remain in Spain and work as his driver.

Mumbai is in the midst of a turf war between two gangs, collectively referred to as the Mumbai underworld when Satya (J.D Chakravarthy), a man without a past, comes to the city looking for employment. While waiting tables at the local dance bar, he gets involved in a scuffle with Jagga (Jeeva), bag man for dreaded don Guru Narayan (Raju Mavani). Jagga takes his revenge by getting Satya arrested on false charges of pimping. In jail, Satya clashes with yet another member of Mumbai's mafia, underworld don Bhiku Mhatre (Manoj Bajpai), who is in prison pending trial for the murder of a prominent film producer. Mhatre, pleased with Satya's bravado, extends a hand of friendship and arranges for his release as well as accommodation. With Mhatre's help, Satya avenges himself by gunning down Jagga in the very same dance bar and joins Mhatre's gang.
