El Yazısı (international title: One Day or Another) is a Turkish drama, comedy film written and directed by Ali Vatansever (Ali Vatansever). Produced by Terminal Film, it follows three stories of hope on a single day in an oppressed small Anatolian town, when they are welcoming their very first foreign English teacher.

Bringing together a powerful Turkish cast of Cansu Dere (Cansu Dere), Sarp Akkaya (Sarp Akkaya), Sercan Badur (Sercan Badur), Salih Kalyon (Salih Kalyon), Baran Akbulut (Baran Akbulut), Bahtiyar Engin (Bahtiyar Engin), Ayşe Selen (Ayşe Selen), Kenan Bal (Kenan Bal) and a foreign actress Wilma Elles (Wilma Elles), the film will be released on March 23, 2012 in Turkey.

El Yazısı is also one of the first partially crowdfunded film in Turkey.

Synopsis

Set in a humble Anatolian town, El Yazısı follows three stories on a day when the town is welcoming its very first foreign English teacher. As an accidental tourist is mistaken for her, the wind of change starts to blow.

The film is set in the years after World War I when the Ottoman capital of Istanbul was under the siege by the enemy. A navy sergeant named Tahtacızade Ali (Kenan İmirzalıoğlu), who has just completed his military service, is yearning for his fiancée Defne (Cansu Dere) who married another man while Ali was away. Ali plans to abduct Defne and flee to Vienna. However, Ali's plans change when he comes across Mustafa Kemal, who has just set on a journey to save the Turkish land from the enemy. Ali recognizes that his real love is his country, and joins in the endeavors to save his country.

The Harikrishnans (Mammootty and Mohanlal) are one of the most famous lawyer duos in India. To avoid confusion one is called as Hari (Mammooty) and the other as Krishnan (Mohanlal). They head the organization called Harikrishnan Associates, which consists of around 300 lawyers. They get engaged in a murder case of Guptan, who was allegedly killed by Gabriel. Gabriel is a friend of Hari's sister and Harikrishnans become the defense lawyers upon her request. Harikrishnans begin investigation and come across Meera (Juhi Chawla), a friend of Guptan. Both of them fall in love with her. After some trouble over the matter, they rediscover their friendship and get involved in the case again. They discover that Guptan actually died due to poisoning by his relatives who were doctors. At the end Meera decides to go for a random method of choosing her lover as she liked both Harikrishnans equally. Two different climaxes of the film show either of Harikrishnans winning the toss for being Meera's friend; the losing person presumably becoming Meera's lover.
