Perumazhakkalam (English: The season of heavy rains) is a 2004 Malayalam film directed by Kamal. It stars Meera Jasmine, Kavya Madhavan, Dileep and Vineeth.

Kavya Madhavan got the 2004 Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performance. Perumazhakkalam won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues in 2005.

Synopsis

Dor est l’histoire de deux femmes différentes, Zeenat (Gul Panag) et Meera (Ayesha Takia) mais dont les destin seront liés par un accident qui changera leur vies pour toujours.Dans les montagnes de l’Himachal Pradesh, Zeenat se marie avec Aamir la veille de son départ pour l'Arabie Saoudite pour travailler.Dans un village du Rajasthan, près de Jodhpur, Meera et son mari Shankar partagent leur derniers moments de bonheur avant qu’il parte lui aussi pour l'Arabie Saoudite, pour travailler.Zeenat est une femme indépendante, fière et forte; elle se débrouille financièrement quand son mari n’est pas là.Meera, elle, est soumise aux traditions du Rajasthan.

Zeenat est une jeune femme musulmane vivant dans les montagnes de l'Himachal Pradesh. Sachidanandan (Dileep) runs an antique shop in the Jewish street at Kochi. He is famous for old Gramophone records.
