Synopsis
Mari Gaila (Silvia Pinal), is an adulteress who lives between ragged, thieves, prostitutes, dwarfs and other misshapen beings, in a rare box at a country and a vague time. Her husband, is a poor sacristan who agrees with other relatives to do business with the display of his orphaned nephew, a mentally retarded dwarf. Caught in committing adultery with her lover, Mari Gaila is caged naked and punished by the people.Acteurs

Lors d'une réception organisée chez un aristocrate mexicain se produit un étrange événement : nul ne semble pouvoir quitter la maison. Tout d'abord le départ de chacun est reporté, sous un prétexte quelconque ; puis, à partir du matin, se manifeste une impossibilité aussi physique que psychique de sortir de la maison, sous l'effet d'une étrange force invisible. Les invités et leurs épouses restent enfermés dans le salon, avec le seul majordome, les autres domestiques ayant tous mystérieusement démissionné, avant le début de ces événements. De même, à l'extérieur, les autorités, la police, les familles se trouvent-elles également incapables de franchir le portail de la propriété.

Joe, an amoral capitalist and boyfriend of Sarah Griswold, gets a job as a clerk in a New York City advertising agency and starts to work his way to the top. Alick Wylie (David Torrence) and his sons David (Donald Crisp) and James (Dudley Digges) are greatly concerned about Alick's daughter Maggie (Helen Hayes), who has been jilted by a minister.
