Synopsis

The story is about three friends growing up in Stockholm in the early 1990s. The youths are rebellious with a passion for money and crime. À Détroit, Janet Slate est heureuse car elle vient de louer l'appartement 1303 du Lake View Residence et quittera sa mère alcoolique Maddie Slate. Elle appelle sa sœur Lara pour lui dire, puis rencontre la petite fille Emily, qui est sa voisine. Emily lui dit qu'une fille, Jennifer, a tué sa mère il y a de nombreuses années et s’est suicidée en sautant du balcon. Elle lui dit aussi de quitter l'appartement. Janet entend des bruits étranges dans l'appartement, elle appelle son petit ami Mark Taylor pour passer la nuit avec elle. Lorsque Mark quitte l'appartement, le fantôme de Jennifer jette Janet hors du balcon. Le détective chargé de l'enquête indique à Lara que plusieurs femmes se sont suicidées dans cet appartement. Lara décide de passer à l'appartement de Janet malgré ce qu'il s'est passé.

Martin Fischer is successful composer. During a rehearsal for an upcoming concert he makes contact with first-violinist Barbara Hartman. During the concert, and Barbara and Martin flirts a lot with each other, although they are both married and have adult children. After the concert, they meet out back. She feels ill, and he says that he will follow her home. They stop at his hotel and goes inside, kisses, and Barbara says she loves him. Somewhat later, she tells her two adult children that she is going to separate from the children's father. Phillip, the son becomes very angry, while her daughter Karin is more indulgent. The film jumps to Barbara's honeymoon with Martin in Morocco. After they return home, Martin experiences amnesia, and is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
